I too have know a couple of girls who started at age 8, even so 7 is very young. I certainly would put a call in to your pediatrician's office and talk to a nurse about it. It might be more common than people think. Your pediatrician might want to run a few tests to check out hormone levels to rule out anything medically unusual. A lot of girls growth dramatically changes when they hit puberty so it might be somthing the dr wants to halt. But I wouldn't suspect foul play if it's a normal looking period. You know the difference between what period blood looks like and blood resulting from tearing, etc would be so you judge that one for yourself.

I would go to the doc, just to be safe. I started my period when I was like 10 and I thought that was really young. It may be normal, but I would check with a doctor just in case. My daughter is 8 almost 9 and I have already talked her about periods because she has already started developing so I figure she will start early in age as well.

Don't automatically suspect that something must of happened to her, that would just kinda creep her out. It would if I was in her position.
1. Has she had breast development?
2. Has she asked you about any pubic hair?
3. Has she been growing more frequently?
If these have been occuring then it's probably the case that she just started developing early. It happens to a lot of s. Nothing to get too worked up about. Just talk to her about the whole period stuff. You know, the birds and the bees. If your gut is telling you to go to a doctor, go ahead. But that might be scary for a 7 year old.

I would take her to the doctor, As for "foul play". What kind of foul play? If she's getting her periods the "foul play" would come from HER hormones. It is not USUAL for a 7 year old to get her period but it does happen.
For instance the 5 year old Peruvian girl who gave birth, her name was Lina Medina and she was from Peru, delivered a 6 pound baby boy on May 14 1939

I got mine when I was eight. It was scary since my mom did not expect me to get it so young so I had no idea what it was the good thing that it was on a Sat. She did not take me to the Dr. she just told me what it was & the story about it. But I think you should take her to the Dr. you never know just in case. By the way I'm now 24 & my periods are normal.

Yes, it's young. However, don't make a huge fuss in front of her, she'll feel like a freak. She doesn't need that. Explain what a period is to her, just like you would when she's older.
Tell her you are taking her to the doctor for a check up. Casually mention it to him, in front of her and ask if you could speak with him alone when the appointment is over- to address any sensitive concerns you have.
The main thing is: Yes it's early, but it might be nothing at all or she might have to get checked out, additionally. You don't want to scare her or upset her.

Well i think that you should call the docter FIRST if he says that its ok and theres nuttin wrong, then i dont think you should have to go. If he recomends coming for a check up just in case, GO! Before all this tho set your daghter down for a serios talk explaining what this is and ask her if shes done foul play, i doubt that tho. Tell the dr if youve have had anything like this in your family 2.That includes drugs, meds, etc.
P.S. im not a dr

Foul Play can't start a period. Yes it is young, but ask her father if any woman in his family got her period this young, or if anyone on yours has. If so it's normal, and if not it's still normal. I would say just to take her to the docter because it's not usual, also it's best to get checked out when you first start your period.

Yes-go to her pediatrician. You don't need to immediately suspect foul play, unless there is someone you already are suspicious of-
My three year old was bleeding from her vaginal area, it was not due to a period, it was due to another condition that required treatment. It was also not due to violation by a predator. There are so many things out there that can cause a variety of symptoms, and many of those are indicators of serious conditions. Don't wait!
