After my last question" Does this makes sense?" A lot of you judged me for seeing your beliefs in my perception. Does this make me a bad person? I would give you the shirt off my back and a lot of religious people would think I were Christian just from my actions. So to all you who jugded me, you will witness, you reap what you sow right here on R&S.

Glitter, don't lower yourself to digging the trenches for their seeds!!! You are just fine...please "know" this.

This sect of Answers is very similar to the Politics sect--kind of scary they are so much alike...but expected (LOL). We are on controversial turf where many gather to put their 2 cents in...some answers are comical, some very hardcore, all taking the opportunity to express. From that all, only take what rings your soul chimes, and simply leave the rest...don't hold onto anything that does not reflect You...See??? No worries, Love...Good Journey!!!

Is not that it makes you a bad person it is that you make a bad choice. The truth is what hearts the most and many people don't want to except it.

you must first understand the religion (as so many call it) before you turn your back from it. Then you must think and ask your self what makes more sense your great great grandparents being monkeys and not truly every knowing how the world was even created or to believe their is someone who created everything (God).

you see if you look at both perspective both may sound ironic. Why do Christians believe? because we (just like everyone else) where born in to this world, have studied about this world in school and have now met something new, something that just made much more sense, something that we witness it's great power and something we can feel.

so you see you can't say religion is not true if you haven't even given it a try and be open mineded (their are some people that do give it a try, but are not open mineded and their for their is no point of even trying it) about it.

so the fact that you don't know what Christianty is or why we believe in it, or given it a try and don't believe in it is infact the reason you make a bad choice.

and once you here it and don't want to except it that is also what makes it a bad choice.

a bad person is made by the choices they make and a good peson is one that makes the right choice (be kind, not steal, kill and so on). but you see the bible teaches us that is not by works, but by faith that people get saved so that no one gloryfies themselves.

hope this helps, God bless you lots:)

Beliefs can make people do bad things. Like the Crusades, 9/11, and the Holocaust. All were religiously driven, (and politically to an extent). Belief that changes your actions in my book is bad, even if it's for a good cause. Since beliefs are not based of facts or truth and are simply made up by your own personal judgment there's no ground to base your desicions off of. There's no logical rationale. Your desicions in life should be based on your own understanding of the world, not some code of beliefs some old farts wrote up.

My response was based on the hate and ugliness you spewed out through the wording you chose. But I did not judge you and I never said you were a bad person. I have two atheist friends who are the most loving and generous people I've ever known, so I know that belief in God is not a precursor to being a good person. You reaped what you sowed by using hateful language to ridicule other people's beliefs, so deal with it.

When you've been programmed to believe that everything good, positive, decent, and moral flows from the belief in a certain deity, then it seems to me you'd have to believe that all unbelievers are evil, negative, indecent and immoral. Regardless of how positive their actions might appear.

Honey: I commend you for being a kind-hearted person, but the question still remains: where is your loyalty? There truly is a God who created you and, according to his standards, there is no such thing as a "good person." Goodness is always weighed in the balanced of godliness. If you don't know God you cannot say that you are good in any way since he is always the judge of goodness.
Mr. M. on "why."

not believing doesn't make you bad. you were bad already! can you deny the fact that you've, as well as everyone else is guilty of sin? Jesus Christ is the only one without sin and he died FOR US!!! There is NO deed great enough that you could do to get into heaven on merit alone! "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of GOD"!!! is what the Bible says. look at it this way! You are in a court room before the judge and you are guilty of the crime you have been accused of! You're not just going to say to the judge 'well, judge, i've done alot of good things in my life and I only stole once!' do you think that a GOOD judge would just make the case go away? NO! A GOOD judge would have to punish you for youre crimes! the Bible says "for the wages of sin is death" Its that simple you sin, you die...but the GOOD NEWS is that Jesus Christ took that punishment for you, all you have to do is ask him into your heart to be your LORD and Savior and repent of your sins. "call upon the name of The LORD and you shall be saved!" Even Christains are sinners, but the difference lies in that we have accepted God''s gift of forgiveness!

I second Furious' answer.

If it's not over religious differences, it will be for any other reason... people tend to be biased and unfairly judge others based on their ideas of "morality" that have been passed down to them, whether influenced by religion or not.
Don't pay any mind to them, your sincere intentions are worth more than puerile and meaningless judgements. :-)

I am not one of the ones that judged you....being a non-believer does not make you a bad person.
I know good people that are non-believers. They always try to do the right things and basically live by the "Golden Rule".
I am a Christian. T
The "problem" with us Christians is not that non-believers are bad people it is that we believe that if your are not saved then you don't go to Heaven.....basically we want to take everyone to Heaven with us when we go.
We think that everyone should hear about our Savior Jesus Christ...if you reject him then it is not our place to pound it into your head or judge you for not believing.

You are not bad for not beleiving. Just remember, questioning the bible means only to question the claims of MAN. Whether the bible is inspired is yet another claim of man. One never has to feel remorse at questioning man.
