I've seen two or three videos comparing the graphics of the ps3 against the xbox 360 and on two of the three i've seen the 360 has won. But where it has won seems to be from the lighting of the game because the lighting on the 360 seems to show more detailin the graphics. The games where the 360 won on the graphics were Assains Creed and NFS Pro Street but COD 4 seemed to have the same graphics. Anyway i was wondering if this will improve for the ps3 or whether it is the ps3 just being stiched up by gametrailers.com.

The PS3 does have better graphics than the Xbox 360. Games like Need for Speed Pro Street and Assassins Creed are released on both consoles, and developers could make the PS3 version more superior, but it would take more time and money, and those games don't push the PS3's graphics. Basically right now, most of the games released for both the 360 and PS3 have about the same graphics.
But when it comes to PS3 exclusive games, the PS3 has better graphics than any other Xbox 360 game. The developers that make games only for the PS3 take more time to take advantage of the PS3's technology.
People are always comparing games that come out for both the Xbox 360 and PS3, but they never compare the PS3's exclusive games to Xbox 360 exclusives. People never compare the PS3's exclusives to Xbox 360 exclusives... I wonder why... it's because the PS3's games has the better graphics that's why!
Also, the PS3 uses Blu-Ray, and the Xbox 360 only uses DVD, so the PS3's games are the ones that are true HD games because the 360's games have to be compressed and then upscaled to HD quality, but PS3 games are already HD.

Developers have had more time to get used to the 360 and so some multi-platform games are better looking on the 360. But PS3 exclusives look better and some developers, such as Midway, are starting to develop on the PS3 as the lead platform and this will mean that multi-platform games will take advantage of the PS3's power and games will look a lot better on it than the 360.

the ps3 willl be better soon right now the game developers have not tapped into all that the ps3 can offer,they are currently using about 33% of the ps3 on call of duty 4 and they are using about 97% of the 360 so any graphics you see now on the 360 are the best you will get plus the ps3 has hdmi 1.3 and 360 has hdmi1.2 so the ps3 has better audio too

dont listen to everything you hear and see on game sites.... i own all 3 systems.... the ps3 and the xbox 360 have almost the same graphics.... by the way its not true that the 360 has better graphics on assassin's creed.... i already compared....
you know why it seems like some games look better on the 360?
because blu-ray is a harder format to program.... programmers are still getting used to blu-ray....
thats the reason why there are no pirated ps3 games.... besides the fact that right now ps3 is unmodable...
there are loads of pirated 360 and wii games.... advantage for sony... better game sales.....

Disc space has nothing to do with graphics quality my friend! The XBOX uses a custom ATI processor with 48 graphics pipelines and the PS2 has a custom NVIDIA graphics processor with an estimated 24 pipelines. Although the ATI processor runs a slightly lower clock speed, the 512 MB GDDR3 system RAM (700 MHz) plus 10 MB embedded DRAM (eDRAM) frame buffer in the 360 blows away the limited 256MB GDDR3 (700MHz) in the PS3.
Both consoles boast very similar graphics processors, however the 360's ATI hardware handles graphics more efficiently. Are the graphics better on the 360? Technically yes, but not by much. The 360 wins with hardware cost, game titles, XBox Live service and avoiding a built in proprietary HD drive in the midst of a format war....dumb move Sony....It will be a bad day when BluRay becomes the next Beta!
PS, Samster....of course you think the graphics on the PS3 are better....you own one!! Have to justify the money you wasted on it right? An unbiased answer was likely sought here, and since I own both.....

i own a ps3 and my freind owns a 360 i personally think the ps3 has way better graphics

ps3 has better graphics because of blu-ray's disc space(50gb) to put in more data for better HD graphics, xbox 360 disc space is only 8.5gb
