I hear so many people claim that their favorite holy book of "truth" is the inspired word of a god and that makes it true more than any other book that claims to be the inspired word of a god, and that fallacy alone is enough for me to not take such a holy book of "truth" as anything more than propaganda. But the real problem that I have with books and believers that make such claims is that many of the believers of such books will claim that the other holy books are "man-made" and therefore false, while theirs is "inspired by god" and therefore true.
Are these people not aware that if something is "inspired" by something, that means that whatever it was is created by man, and is therefore man-made? People are inspired by all kinds of stuff, from ocean sunsets to the words of a good coach, that does not mean that the ocean sunset painted the painting or the coach played the game, all it means is that someone found inspiration in what they experienced and acted on it.

There are very few holy books of truth that claim to actually be written by a god itself, and the bible is not one of them. Are people simply not aware of the difference between someone being inspired by the thought of a god, and a god actually writting something itself?

I think that you answered your own question. I think that you are completely right about what you wrote about what people are inspired by.
There are so many different religions, books, thoughts, hopes, etc...People tend to lean toward either what they were brought up to believe, or what they want to believe.
It's all so relative to the person.
I've learned to have the "whatever you believe, you believe; and whatever I believe, I believe, or think, or hope. This is one question that will probably be hanging in limbo unitl the end of time!

There are different types of inspiration. One might think of something and then write about it. The thought inspired the work, but the work has its own integrity and message independent of the thought which inspired it. On the other hand the work might be suffused with the one who inspired it, the spirit breathes within the pages, giving life to those who read. This is the inspiration more people would claim for the Bible, although not all would find each and every portion thereof equally inspired or inspirational. The Bible, and all of its different books, has been through the hands of so many editors and redactors, that to speak of any one author even for each book is at best a moot point. Under such conditions "written by" must be seen in a larger context. It is beyond question that the larger part is created by humans, but it is created by their perceived interaction with God in a faith relationship. God still works in it as He grabs people to grapple with it, to interpret it, understand, and inform their life by it. It is not a dead letter, but a living word. So there is yet another context of inspiration, that of the reader. And another context of inspiration, the world in which that is put to work. As the Qu'ran says, "Allahu Akbar!" God is great.
Since my Bible says, "All things written aforetime, were written for our learning..", I don't limit my understanding of Scripture. I read a very wide variety of books and teachings from a diverse number of world religions.

Oh and also The Secret Garden
Thats why I dont hold much heed to what the bible says, I believe in God because of the experiences in my life not the writings of men...

For one thing God does not write the books himself. God is like the brain and we are his hands and his feet. God will tell a man/woman what to put in a book; or they will be inspired by god or by something that God did.

The Holy Spirit inspired men of God to write His Word.......
That is just the same as saying God wrote it
2 Peter 1:20-21 “Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”
2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness”

I'll allow you to have your belief if I may have mine. This is one of the verses that the Inspired group stand on: "In the begininning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1.1. The Word refered to is the Holy Bible, in case you were in doubt.

According to many writers of the Bible, they found inspiration from an experience with God and acted on it, hence took writing implement to papyrus, and documented it. Just because you haven't had this experience, why do you automatically assume they didn't?

That is not the way the God of Abraham has spoken through His people. Just as Moses went to the top of Mt Sinai and came down with the Ten Commandments, God speaks infallible truths through those whom He selects.

You can be inspired by anything but you can only be written by one source at a time.
