The only thing that the 80GB PS3 has that the 40GB PS3 doesn't have is the ability to play PS1 and PS2 games, the digital camera flash card slots and 4 USB ports.
The 40GB PS3 only has 2 USB ports, it cannot play PS2 games but it can play PS1 games, and it doesn't have the digital camera flash card slots.
I recommend that you get the 80GB PS3, but if you don't plan to play PS2 games with the PS3 then get the 40GB PS3. But if you get the 40GB PS3, I recommend that you buy a larger hard drive for it first before you start saving games on it because in my opinion 40GB isn't really that much space.
I have the 60GB PS3 and I have about 41GB left, and I've had mine for about 11 months, but I guess it depends on how much you store on your PS3 though.

I advise going with the 80gb. reason I say it is you never understand what you % to placed on your harddisk you're able to besides get the single with the bigger area for storing. The video games you pronounced are older video games count actuality the hot COD would be out next twelve months so i might say, that would not make it well worth getting the 40gb variety.

if you want the best for the money go with the 40gb because the ps3 ha a place on the bottom to where you can slide in a regular laptop hard drive with up to 320gb of memory for really cheap
