No, science is not a scam. Global warming is controversial, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. Besides, all of the data is logical and makes sense, so those who don't even consider it are probably uneducated and don't know anything. Also, it cannot be a political item because of the inclusion of so many other countries. The Kyoto treaty, bill, or whatever, states that certain countries will restrict emissions, pollution, etc., and includes countries like Japan and Germany who have signed it, so there's no way it could be a political-backed scam from the US. So no, global warming is not a scam.

Honestly, I do not know. I can see both sides actually. What I firmly believe in, however, is that regardless of whether it is a scam or not, we still need to take of the Earth. Just because someone believes global warming is a scam doesn't mean that they should be against all things that have the potential to help our environment. While I do not have an answer on whether global warming is real or not, I do know for a fact that carpooling, recycling, reducing waste, and everything else that comes with it WILL make the world a better place to live in and will help our environment. If people would stop arguing on whether or not global warming is real and instead spend their time working together to help our environment, we would all be better off. And if it turns out that it is real, at least we will have spent our time trying to fix it, not arguing.

I am a 55 year old mother of 6 girls & 2 boys and the grand mother of 12 grand daughters & 6 grand sons... Please believe me it is not a scam... global warming is happening... and it is not just big corporations that are doing the dirty deed. it is all of us.. there are ice storms in Florida for the first time.. I am from from Florida and have moved to Oregon where the summers back in 1969 seem to last about 1 month and half... it is November and the temperature has been 47, 57 even up to 75 degrees.. years ago we had to put on our snow boots to go out for halloween... even the hurricanes are worst than ever and title waves have a new name now..all because of the harm we have done to the earth... you want to hear a scam... the experts have not told any of us that the earth is a "living planet" that give so much life support.. the earth like all living things is fighting back. we call the earth " mother nature" well honey mama earth like all mamas when her children are attacked will fight back and if we are not good to her she will not allow us to destroy her.. so you had better stock up on gallon jugs of bottle water.. I remember the good old days when we could drink tap water.. our water supply is polluted this is why we now have o purchase bottle water. the summers will have more and more water shortages because of global warming..... the earth will win the battle because she will lay us out with a T K O knock out... there is a move out title "what would life be like with out the Mexicans" . it was a good movie made a good point... What would life be like w/o clean air, clean water, oil. soon the earth will not give her oil there will be no oil to purchase nor gas.. what then... look at the areas of the earth where people are staving to death the trees have been cleared and the sky above the earth is not giving the life giving rain that can grow food for these people. it not like the water bill has not been paid it is a lack damage in a lot of areas
Isaiah 115:16 the earth will stand for ever..Psalms 24:1 tells who owns the earth and there is a promise from Jehovah God Him self of what will happen to those who are harming the earth... we are suffering some of that now with more to come if we do not stop harming the earth... a 16 oz bottle of water was 25cent in 1969 by 1989 50 cents.... 2007 that same 16 oz bottle water is not 89 cents and in some 7-11 stores $1.29.. just start looking around you and pay attention.. my mom and grandparents said that when basic staples like a loaf of bread, rice, corn meal, pasta, oil, eggs go up the trouble is ahead so get ready as best you can. and by the way you should draw close to GOD before the mess hit the fan. and read all of 2 Timothy get you a bible dictionary or go on life and ask what the bible say about what will happen to those that are harming the earth or contact you nearest Jehovah Witness kingdom hall and get the right understand if it is a scam or not about global warming

Gore's movie may be a little over dramatic, but it has the basic science right. This movie does not.

Channel 4 itself undercuts the movie in a funny way. If you go to their website on the movie you find links to real global warming information. They also have a way to "Ask the Expert" about global warming. The questions go to a respected mainstream scientist who supports (mostly) human responsibility for global warming.

So, why did Channel 4 broadcast it?

No, it is not a scam. It is a natural event in the Earth's history. Just like global cooling. Politicians are using climate change for their own purposes. Pollution is another issue and in part pollution of all kinds in influencing climate change, but even if we stopped all pollution today, it would not stop global warming, or global cooling for that matter.

Yes, Ian. It is. When I was a lad of 16, we were told to fear an ice age and that crops would fail and that many people would freeze to death. Now all the ice will melt, seas will cover all the coastal areas and crops will fail and people will sweat to death.

It's a big yawner. In the 10 years they always say we have until it's too late, you will see them come up with another environmental scam to scare you into paying high taxes and personal freedom for something else that either won't happen or can't be changed.

Sure there might be some natural warming - but still well within natural parameters.
To believe that the very small amount of Co2 - (a very minor gas that truly may not effect weather) that man produces compared to huge amounts of Co2 that nature produces

The "theory" of "Catastrophic Global Warming" is not a "scam" per se. It is a genuine concern by scientists and politicians that we may be damaging the ecology of the earth in a major way.

The reason some people see it as a scam is because the science does not back up the "Catastrophic" part very well, but politicians and activists still insist that we spend lots of money (mostly in new TAXES) to "fix" the problem.

When a man tells me I need to buy Carbon Offsets from him to assuage my guilt, and then uses the profits from selling me the offsets to pay for his own, I wonder about his integrity.
