I love the Lord but sometimes I have felt the spirit of oppression one day when I worked in insurance everyone was being negative and I could feel this in the air and I asked a co-worker who is a christian and he said he felt that there was opression too.

My question is can you feel vibes whether something is negative or postive, does the Bible have anything to say about this energy?

Also when I clean my house I open all the windows and pray over each room that Gods peace would be present and I ask God to remove all negative thoughts and energies we might have brought into the home. Do any of you do this?

Do you also think that words spoken that are negative go into the universe and continue to cause hurt even long after the words are spoken?

The warfare is spiritual. I cannot give you the exact verse but it is the Book of Daniel. He prayed several days and when the messenger (angel) arrived, the angel claim he was dispatched on the first day but the prince of persia (evil angel) would not allow him to Daniel, until God dispatched an archangel to put the prince of persia aside so the messenger could make it through.

You better believe your on a battlefield. And your prayers do matter. And yes you can bless and curse with major ramifications. So be careful what you say and pray.

This is to all who believe. Next time you hear a siren, pray for those heading to a scene of turmoil. The warfare is spiritual, use the siren as a call to prayer. Shalom.

There really are spirits and demons in this world and they seek to use people. They also inhabit places. So your experience is no surprise to me! I have had similiar things happen. One time while on a missions trip in Florida with a Missionary Training school, my teammates and I were staying at a fellow believer's house. One evening my small group leader approached me and shared that he had been struggling with lustful thoughts. I had too. We noticed that the homeowner's sons watched porn occassionally. After we left that house the atmosphere changed and the lustful thoughts disappeared.
I don't fear the devil or demons and I don't want to become obessed with spiritual warfare - looking for a demon behind every door. I believe that's one thing the devil wants - our constant attention. Yet, the devil, demons and evil spirits are a reality that we Christians should not ignore. There is a time for spiritual warfare and in Christ we have both the victory and the authority to deal with them!

Good question. But my Pastor has preached on this a lot. http://www.riveroflifefellowship.org . You can purchase books he wrote on being positive, etc...

We reap what we sow. And sometimes people in to work office is talking negatives. Speaking our fears & believing them is having faith in our fears & opens the door to oppressing spirits at work.

The power of life & death is in our tongues. And God created everything by the faith of God & the spoken Word of God. That is why speaking our faith is sooo important for victory in our lives. As long as we don't have faith in our fears & negativity.

What Pastor has preached is to overcome the negative with positive. Speak & claim Gods truth over the devils lie. So? The negative atmosphere in the work office is probably peoples gossiping or speaking their fears. You can overcome it by praying Gods victory verses when the negative feeling comes around.

Also, we can open doors to demons by disobeying Gods daily direction in our personal life. Demons are discomforting feelings. So? Submit to God, Gods Word, Give God attention. So important. Resist satan, don't give satan any attention or repeat any of the devils fears. Satan runs away.

Also, this is Christian warfare. So read all of Ephesians & read Ephesians6 for the spiritual armor.

Also, when i sense a curse against me. Wether someone said it to my face or behind my back, I just imagine a boomerang head my way, dipped in Gods love & returned to sender. This works every time for me (if it is a curse) Because Jesus told us to bless those who curse you. And the blessing ovecomes the curse. So? When I do this, I don't receive the curse, yet I bless the one who sent it my way.

What you are referring to is spiritual warfare. The negative energies are from demons present in non-believers. This is why you have people dislike you even though they just met you. Praying over each room is unnecessary because God has His angels protecting you and your house hold. Demons cannot touch you unless God allows them to. Atleast this is what I understand.

oh yeah, i have definitely felt oppression, even in large cities. In the bible, it says death and life are in the power of the tongue. You can either speak life or death. Words spoken are so much more powerful than we can imagine. You cant take words back.
Yes I often pray for God to remove the oppression and negativty, but be careful what you speak.

Yes I think you can feel the principalities and powers of darkness oppressing you and yes I do pray about it.:

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

You don't have to open the windows, for starters. A spirit leaving doesn't need an open window to exit.

On face, I think you are venturing outside of the realm of WHAT IS WRITTEN in the WORD, when you get into the part about positive and negative energy.

Let's talk about demons instead. They are created beings who rebelled against God and started a war in the heavenlies under the leadership of their commander-in-chief, Lucifer, commonly known as Satan.

It says in the Word, that devil Satan is the prince of the power of the air.

Think about the way "...you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient."

Well you don't live that way anymore.

But you do have to deal with the spirit world.

Because it exists.

"For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."
-- 2 Cor 2:3-5 NIV

And in The Message it reads: "The world is unprincipled. It's dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn't fight fair. But we don't live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren't for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity."

So when you feel that spirit of oppression, take up your weapons which are mighty through God to the pulling down, DOWN, of strongholds, and PRAY! Pray with your Christian co-worker! The Word tells us, in Matthew 18:19 "Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven."
--NKJV

James 4:7 says: "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

Speak to the entity in Jesus' MIGHTY NAME! Tell it to GO!

You are right to ask God for His peace.

"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful." John 14:27

"And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth."

If Jesus has ALL AUTHORITY, then guess who has NONE!!!

You are HIS representative here. You have His authority to speak to the enemy! Just do it!

As to the last comment you made,,,,,,the hurt from speaking something hurtful to someone is only reconciled by your asking forgiveness from that person for hurting them. Forget all that other stuff. It doesn't matter and you don't need to dwell on it. What you DO need to do is go to that person and seek forgiveness. The same thing goes for you, if you are hurt. Forgive! Forgive! Forgive!

I hope you got some good from what I have attempted to impart to you, my sister in Christ. And above all,,,,,you will be well prepared to take care of business with the enemy by reading your bible every single day. Read Psalms 63 today! :o) I did,,,,and oh it was good.

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12
