I had a friend that worked in a HUGE complex. 80% were hispanics born in the US. 12% were white and the remaining 8 was black and other. Those are real stats by the way. So there is the drain on the system. Those people had 3-6 kids and some had one parent and many had both. They were home ALL freakin day doing nothing but watchin tv and smokin weed and dealing drugs.
How is that a comparison to a person that comes here and works illegal or otherwise? Even if he's using a fake social he's still paying taxes. Who deserves to be here most?

Thomasina et al:
If it's all about abuse of taxes why would you want to continue letting lazy Americans flaunt the system. Your argument is invalidated by the fact that the illegal is paying the tax and the other is getting fatter and more lazy and system savvy by the hour.

Yeah, my father-in-law manages some properties under contract from the city, that were taken out of the direct management of thier 'slum lord' owners. The conditions he found when he first took them over were apalling. Property not maintained, no functioning sewage lines, gangs signs, bullet holes, open drug dealing, etc. Who makes up the population of low-rent housing is a very local phenomenon - in that case, they were heavily immigrant, asian & hispanic - not much english being spoken. Doubtless there were illegals there, but city policy is not to check immigration status.

The dramatic and persistent failure of 'projects' and social programs that create cycles of dependency is undeniable, regardless of where the poor people trapped in them came from.

So, yes, such failed policies should be ended. Illegals mired in them should obviously be deported. Citizens and legal residents can't be deported, obviously, but could be jailed for any crimes they've comitted.

Citizens have the right, lazy or otherwise, to be here before any illegal. If they are a drain on society, we don't need more. Being here illegally is a crime.

Ok. If the 80% hispanic are legal, then that knocks out the theory that if given amnesty, illegal aliens ( the majority of which are hispanic) will work even harder and become an asset to our work force. First, an illegal has committed a crime by being here. Than, he/she has committed a second crime by obtaining a fraudulent SS#. Third, some may pay taxes, but most don't.

Actually, you put a good point there! You just pointed out we have enough problems we have to deal with here in America with our own people, without having to have illegals add to the problems already present! Doesn't matter where you go though, there will always be lazy bums! Your trying to distract everyone from the real issue, which is if you're here illegal, you do not belong! Illegal is illegal, there are no if and or buts. If they had goo dintentions towards America they would have come here legally and started here on the right foot! Actually, a lot of people end up stealing social security cards, and then the actual owners get ripped on by the IRS for not paying "their" taxes for a job that they in fact never worked. Happened to a friend of mine, and IRS really didn't give a crap, and in fact said that people tell them this all the time. It cost him thousands of dollars to gain control of his identity again!

Joe, do you really think an illegal who applied for housing would admit to being illegal? Do you really think the housing department verifies that they are here legally? Even if they did, do you not know how easy it is to buy forged documents in the illegal alien communities? Do you not know how many "activist" organizations like ANSWER and La Raza help get illegals into public housing by filling out the forms for them?

Stop pretending to be so naive.

added: if you're arguing that we shouldn't have public assistance (or at least not so much of it) then I'm with you. That doesn't change the fact that illegal aliens are here illegally and should by all rights be deported.

Of the 80% born hispanics, how may of their parents were legal?? Also, how can we clean up our problems when we do nothing about the illegals.

Now look at the entire picture.

1. they work cheaper thus lowering labor rates, they live several families to a home thus allowing them to work cheaper and thus distorying the American Dream
2. As the rates lower, it can pay more for the Americans to sit at home instead of working.
3. Would you get a job if you can get paid the same not to work. There will always be social leeches, but our liberal politics rewards those whom are lazy and punish the hardworking. I agree we need accountablity.
4. Where do you think most of the drugs are coming from??

I do social work, and, one of my cities was featured on Newsweek's front page for shootings a couple of years ago. Yes, I spend a lot of time in subsidized housing, including walking over people passed out in hallways, having strange people follow me from my car, and, the "disappearing wall" trick.... These rooms are full of people that are down on their luck. There is a criminal element, and, truthfully, my co-workers are concerned when I go there (I am one of the only women that will). The psychological issues of the inhabitants of these homes are profound. No one wants to end up there. No child dreams of that being their residence when they are grown. The underlying events that lead people there are quite severe. They are our citizens, they need our encouragement and for us to believe in them, not our criticism.

Your question is comparing 2 things that don't relate. These people are citizens and have had horrible lives. The undocumented has probably had a horrible life, but, has violated laws in coming here.

I've seen it. There is alot of corruption and racism involve. We have been having problems with LA, because the Housing Authority has been falsifying doucmentation and giving Section 8 housing to immigrants , including illegal immigrants. The Feds sent in someone to clean it up, and it has gotten worse. Now there are accusation that racism is out of control in the Housing Authority.

None of them deserve to be here. Most of the time if you break one law you are not going to be concerned with breaking more. It is just a simple part of psychology. All of them should be deported, the anchor baby clause should be taken out immediately, employers of illegals should be put in jail and the border needs to be secured. Until these things happen we will never see an end to the stupidity of our system.

Gee, we've only seen this question asked a million different ways. US citizens have the right to be here, lawbreakers don't.

The main problem being the taxes paid on menial labor jobs is so small it doesn't make a dent in the social services used.
