Joseph Smith, founder of the LDS, already said there are errors in the bible, he then 'corrected' the errors and called it the Joseph Smith Translation.

my first thought is to say YES.
but then again the book of mormon is NOT so perfect either.
the second thought is that false prophets do rise up. and the third thought is if a false prophet is proved to be found in leadership the whole church would have to excommunicate him.
but most mormons would not do that.
So, in mormon history, it has become a doctrine that Prophets can undermine what other prophets have done and said.
Or it is commonly taught that men are capable of making mistakes. but they are pretty vague in public as to pronouncing what mistakes have "crept" into their tradition and doctrinal LORE.
no, i believe the bible is the word of God written by ispiration
NO, i believe the BoM is sufficiently wealthy enough in teaching the gospel that it is relevant.
it becomes the responsibility of all men to study, ponder and pray and for priesthood holders to preach, teach expound and invite unto baptism.

No. Wouldn't happen. We believe in personal revelation. so even if a prophet did say that, I would have to decide that that's the right thing for me. I cannot imagine ever coming to that conclusion.
BTW, even non-LDS Christian theologians can admit that there are many many errors in the bible. We have our own corrections to what we see as errors. The corrections are written in a seperate part. We read the KJV but we have footnotes that show us when things have corrections, and then we can go look the corrections up.

This is pretty far fetched. If a prophet said to get rid of the scriptures I would question his authority. I would not sell him any life insurance because they have said if he lead the Church astray, the Lord would remove him.

Yes they would unless they are already questioning things.
Why? Because they are taught to follow their leaders and even though they may say "well they arent perfect, they are just men, etc" they still believe they speak the will of God and Jesus and will do as instructed.
Otherwise they will fear going to hell and not going to the celestial kingdom.

He never said to get rid of it. It's not translated correctly from the original texts.

Considering the prophet is speaking for God, of coarse they would. It's already happened plenty of times.
To first answer, a new prophet is appointed after each one dies.

Isn't their prophet dead? Like in 1840 something? I don't think a century and a half of being dead lends him to saying much...
Edit -
There's a NEW prophet? Wow, I've learned something...thanks missmelissa
