The more aggressive Christians here seem to have a real thing about Atheists, but seem to stop there? Shouldn't they be posting snarky questions about Islam, or Scientology, or Odin?
Which is worse, in their books? Belief in a false god, or lack of belief in a god?

Fatima: Certainly am. But not a hypocritical one, at least. I'm an equal-opportunities denier of God's existence, under any name. :)

questioning other religious beliefs would lead to uncomfortable realisations about their own; as each god has as much evidence going for it as the other ones do (i.e. none).
Better to rail against the people who think all gods are bunk.

Don't really consider myself to be aggressive, but I am a Christian so I hope that qualifies me to answer. People that believe in any god are more apt to have a chance of finding the real God than someone that believes in no gods at all. If you have faith in one thing, it is easy to transfer that faith into another. If you have no faith at all, then you have begin there, a much harder place to start from.

I don't think there is one that is worse than the other.
Those who believe in false gods are just as mislead as those who believe there is no God. But those who believe in something are easier to show the true God than those who believe they are God.
I have to say though, to believe there is no God one must have more faith than those who do. There's more pointing towards a God than there is pointing towards a mistake in the universe.

I do not hold back on my evaluation of the evils of islam
i also do not hold back on jehovah witness, mormons or others.
if you ask, i will tell you what I know. is this speaking the truth in love?
if the truth will save them, yes, if not, it will be regarded by the reader as an attack. that is unfortunate but i'm sure it happens.
answer a question if you will. is it more important to be right or popular?

How do you prove a god is false, anyway?? Just because your beliefs are different?? If you believe in one faith and go to heaven, but you didn't believe in another faith you therefore go to hell. It really doesn't make any sense anyway.
I don't need some ancient text to help be be a good person. I have no faith, but that doesn't make me a criminal or a bad guy.

It's R+S conditioning.
After a month or so on the board, you notice a trend. Atheists vs. Christians. Many people follow the trend.

They feel more threatened by atheism than they do by other religions, because they're at least dimly aware that the atheists are right.

Listen, tough guy ...
this is NOT a competition between 2 differing beliefs ....
It IS, however, a competition to see who can be the most sarcastic .... : )
Didn't you get the memo ...?
