I can't afford to get my hair dyed, so I do it at home. I see that most of the hair color (Preference, Excellence, etc.) are $8-10.
However, Revlon's "Colorsilk" is $3. I called Revlon, and they told me it's just as good as the others. PEOPLE WHO KNOW, please tell me if "Colorsilk" is as good for my hair. Thank you so much. :)

I can't answer your question directly, so I'll apologize in advance.

That said, I highly recommend that you shop at your local beauty supply store, and get the same products that a hair stylist would get. There will be a small "extra" outlay at the beginning of the process. You'll need the bottle of developer (probably costs $10 - $15), and a squeeze bottle with a pointed tip (another $2 or you can use one from the last box of stuff from the drugstore).

From there, the bottle of color usually costs $4 - $5, but the developer will last for 8 - 10 uses. Overall, the cost probably evens out with what you've been buying, but the quality of the product is much better.

you should get ur hair done at a beauty school they actually do a really good job and the teachers are always watching them. plus all box haircolors are really bad. and you most likely will never get the color your hoping for because of all the previous haircolors. and different brands. ur best bet is going to an actual beauty supply store and getting color its about the same or cheaper. good luck!
