As a former mormon, the majority would stick with whatever the prophet instructed them to stick with.
Odds are it would be the BoM as its taught to be the most correct of all the books.

I'm sure you have an answer for the Acts 9:7 and Acts 22:9 issue. Did those with Saul/Paul at his conversion hear a voice? ACT 9:7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man. ACT 22:9 And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me. Your answer would likely not persuade an atheist who did not believe the Bible to begin with. Likewise there are answers to the questions you raise. However, a person who already "Knows" the Book of Mormon is not true would likely not be persuaded. A person who is honestly seeking with an open mind may be persuaded by your response regarding Acts and the answers found here about the purported Book of Mormon contradictions

On a serious and sensible level I'd say, that will never ever happen.
On the other hand, just to answer your q: I would not be CAPABLE of giving up either. because the two are literally one book in my hand. I'd have to burn half my scriptures and that wouldn't look pretty. I've already cross referenced the two, so there goes half my sources, and the BoM has so many foot notes leading to the Bible I would be at a complete loss!
Senator McClain said it right. One wouldn't be complete without the other.

Actually, I depend on Jesus Christ for salvation, not any book. If I was being forced to choose one over the other, I'd resist that force even if it cost me my life. I really value my freedom of religion.

Tamil:
I would not give up either, both form part of what we consider the Standard Work of Scriptures.
I must question your motives. Aren't you supposed to be a River of Life, Billy Graham, Christian? Yet, here you are, acting like a Pharisee with this deceitful question meant to sow dischord among people, cast doubt on whether the LDS are Christians, and encourage others to join in bad-mouthing the LDS Church.
By their fruits ye shall know them...

There is no "right" answer to these kind of obscure, unrealistic questions. It's like if I were to ask you...would you rather kill your mother, or your father? You can't make a "decision" because the sheer question is unfair and impractical.
I would rather keep both and take my chances.

If you give up the book the holds the fundamentals of your chosen religion, then you have pretty much given up your chosen religion, and your back to square one.

The whole point is that there are two witnesses of Jesus Christ from opposite ends of the Earth. One without the other is not whole or complete.

Personally. If I had to, i'd give up the bible. I've read it through twice, and I know what it says(for the most part). I've studied all parts of it many times. I don't know a lot about the book of mormon and want to study further.
However. They are essential for one another. We DO believe in the bible, no matter what silly gibberish speaking douches say.

I wouldn't give up either. They are both essential to my faith and religion. I cannot foresee a situation where I would only be allowed to keep one of the two. Either both would be taken, or neither would.
