We had a tandem stroller when my brother and sister were little. He was born when she was about 20 months old, so they both needed to ride. We (my mom and I- I was 9 when brother was born) went to the store and looked at lots of them. We liked the side-by-side ones, but they were all so wide that you can't fit them through a standard doorway, and they're much more difficult to maneuver. Also, if you have a habit of hanging things on the handle, the side-by-side ones are easier to tip over backwards.

The negatives on a tandem stroller (or at least the one that we had) was that only the rear seat reclined all the way, so mom had to put the baby in the back, and the toddler up front. That made it a little more difficult to push, because all the weight was on the turning wheels.

The tandem ones that they have now are really great, because most of the have dual reclining seats, and you can turn them aroudn to face both frontways, or both to the middle, or both to the back so you can see their faces. They're also made so that most infant car seats can snap onto them securely.

Also, one that I have seen looks like a regular one-seat stoller, but on the back is has a fold-down seat for a slightly older child who can walk on his or her own, but may get tired and need to ride. I saw it in a One Step Ahead catalogue. I've been looking at things like that, because my son will be 2 in February, and I'd really like to get pregnant with baby #2 quite soon.

I prefer tandem strollers. The side-by-side one is too wide and often doesn't fit through the isles of my favorite shopping spots. We are about to purchase the "Sit n' Stand" stroller. My 3 year old son can stand (or sit) in the back part of it and my 3 month old can sit in his carrier which is in the front seat. Later, you can remove the carrier attachment and its just a normal seat.

I personally love side by side strollers for my twins. I find it cuts back on fighting because its harder for them to pull each others hair. It also enables them to talk to each other and interact with each other. I use the maclaren techno twin. But I know that the maclarens do not have a set up for the infant car seats. I believe the combi does have that set up in the side by side strollers

tandem is always better, they fit into different places and are easier all the way around.

This is the best damn stroller ever made, ive suggested it to tons of mom's and all of them loved it.

It does SO much more than the normal double stroller. The seats can easily face either way (without taking the child out), any major brand carseat fits in the holder (not just kolcraft ones, even graco fits), and it grows with your kids so much better than others.

I like the one that seats one in front of the other, it's easier to get into places, easier to turn, and you can see you little ones better then in the side by side one.

Tandem is best! It fits in crowded isles at stores AND when they are old enough to fight, you won't get the "sister keeps touching me" whine!!
