Does it last a whole day or only a couple of hours? How many hours approximately if the latter?
What about a regular mug of black tea? Is the stimulant effect better than coffee's and how much does it last approximately?

Coffee - 2hrs
Tea - much longer effect (5hrs) but lower dose of caffeine

How long caffeine stays in your system depends much on...
how much has been ingested
if there is any other food in your stomach
your weight
your metabolism/how fast your body eliminates it
If all this sounds familiar, it should be... it's the same for other medications, alcohol, & your mother's baked beans (just kidding about the beans).

It depends on how strongly the coffee/tea was brewed. Some advice suggests avoiding caffiene after noon in order to sleep well at night. It will also depend on how sensitive you are to the effects.
