Well if they were late... then they late. It's distracting for people to come into class late.

yes she was right to be mad. I would have probably given a detention or trip to the office aswell if they never had a pink slip excusing them for being late. It is disruptive to both students and teachers when people come into the class interupting because they are late. I hated that when I was in school. Either show up on time or don't show up at all.

It's disrespectful to come in late w/o a very good reason. Being late doesn't just hurt the person who is late. It is also distracting to those who were in class, on time and ready to learn. Yes, it's right for her to point out that they are late and it's possible that they could suffer consequences if they are late frequently.

I think it is very unacceptable to embarrass anyone in front of
an audience. There are ways to handle things and even though it is very unacceptable to be late to school there are times that it is almost impossible to avoid it.
Everyone should have the right to be listen before being judged.
Tolerance, respect and consideration it's something that we all should have.
If I was the teacher I would still had said Good Morning! and I
would have waited after class to speak to them in private.
When I was in Jr. High School I was very late one day and it was because my Mom was very sick and as sad and worried as I was I still went to School luckily I had a great and professional teacher that waited until after the class to talk to me............You just never know what's going on in peoples lives.........At least give people a chance to explain the reasons.
Humiliating, exposing and ridiculing isn't the way to motivate
anyone To became a better person.........specially if they are young adults.

I think punctuality is important, and she is probably just trying to prepare them for the real world, where you could lose a great job, just for being late, and it also shows a lack of respect for the teacher, or for anyone who is kept waiting. I think your point is more to the point of the fact that she called them on it in front of the class, and your right in a way. But honestly do you think you would be late for her class knowing how important it is to her now? I do see it from both sides,

"All three of you sit down and shut up! Disrupting my class... you're all going to today's detention and you're all going to write me the Tardiness Policies," says the strict-and-all-evil teacher.
"Eh, lighten up teach," begins the skinny and and golden-happy student. "Another bright day?"
"Welcome to science class. You can pick up the mid 1960's Hippie Age in history class. You three were late and you get detention with the Tardiness Policies writings."
Coming in late does disturb the class (students look and stare, teachers have to give warnings or detentions and collect late slips).
"I have noticed that the people that are late are often so much jollier than the people who have to wait for them." Lucas, E.V.
"People count the faults of those who keep them waiting." Proverb, French; That's bad for the first group.
These two 'sayings' are only notifications of the whole. The saying "Better late than never" works only for you. Suck it up.

Even though it's not disrupting to you, it's disrupting for the teacher, and the students that actually care about how they do in school. I'd have been pissed, too! People need to be more respectful, and showing up late to class is not being respectful. We got detention for being late, does your teacher do that? If not, she should. It might teach you guys to show up to class on time.

Soooo they WERE late... and your teacher said "you're late"... and you're angry about that?
She had a right to be annoyed that 3 kids came in late! They should just be lucky she only pointed out the obvious instead of giving them detention or something.

Tere's nothing wrong with a teacher making rules for their classroom. Be on time, it's respectful. It is a pain to have to be interrupted and restart a lesson or whatever the teacher is doing. They need to have an excused absence slip.

As a teacher, it is important that you be fair. Pls understand that i want everyone to succeed. I define fair in this situation as making sure everyone hears what i have to say. Such as tips, insights, etc. so everyone has an equal chance to success. In addtion, It is unfair to those who are on time, for me to have to repeat everything for those that are late.
To earn a teachers respect, you have to give it. Being on time shows this.
