Mormons, in the BoM it states that the Lamanites would never be completely destroyed off of the Earth. Therefore, there should be at least some trace of there DNA in their ancestors, shouldn't there? And yet some of you propose that the reason there isn't is because they may have been destroyed by the other inhabitants. You need to read the BoM more carefully, as well as Joseph Smith's writings, because if that is the case, you are calling both a liar. So how can you legitimately explain the lack of any trace of "lamanite" DNA in American Indians?

Grammatical error. Replace ancestors with descendants.

If I were Joseph Smith, I would have said that the Curse not only changed the color of their skin, but the DNA as well, that would have covered that problem from the get-go.

The DNA study doesn't bother me at all since i never relied on scientific evidence for my belief that native americans are decendants of the Lamanites. I do believe in science and in DNA but that doesn't mean that science has been reliable. Just the fact that Native americans are closer decendants of asians then Jews doesn't explain much. That's the only things scientists know for a fact. It doesn't explain away the book of mormon. It's still a huge scientific mystery.

Everything in life, from the existance of the earth, to the animals and us and the miracles of god were created by god through science. There are scientific ways he created it but that's not what i rely on for knowledge or wisdom. Science doesn't prove that god lives even though they are evidence of his existance. You rely on the Holy Ghost for the truth. Otherwise, there would be no religion.

Easy. When God changed the Lamanites to separate them from their brethren they were actually and literally changed. They didn't appear as their brothers the Nephites. God changed their color and appearance. If that is the case, which I believe it is, then it is only reason to believe that their DNA was changed. It sounds pretty simple to me. If they look different then they had to be changed. And they were. And the book of Mormon also talks about many leaving in ships to settle other places. You read the part about Hagoth? So that would explain the relation to certain others in Asia as well. And what about the other lost tribes of Israel? They could very well be many of the different Asian Cultures, but we don't know, so I can only speculate.

The Lamanites descended from Laman. Laman was born of Lehi. Where were Lehi's ancestors from?

Please advise the source of the baseline DNA from the tribe of Manasseh. The only thing proven is that modern Jews are not closely related to Navajos.

The book of mormon is nothing but a collection of lies. The only truth found in it are the parts plagiarized from the Bible.

Because the Book of Mormon is fake. Joseph Smith is a lying con artist. The Book of Mormon is simply put, Josephs Myth.

LOL God changed their DNA. I bet someone had a great burning in the bossom to come up with that one!
