If you can get a hold of some, check out their magazines. Most will have a section of letters decrying, in detail, the scandalous behaviours of this or that person, neighbour, co-worker, celebrity, etc.
Their own publications stand as evidence.

That's one of the reasons. The other main one I see is that they focus on other people's unwillingness to be legalistic and anti-intellectual to keep from analyzing their own belief system, which would surely fall apart under even the slightest scrutiny.

It´s to aviod looking at their own messed up minds. they then try to make other people even more messed up, so they feel like less messed up.

They aren't trying to get into your business. What they are doing is out of love. They believe they can save you from hell. I am not a fundamentalist , and I disagree with much of what they do..but the aren't trying to be mean.
