what exactly were those "evils"? i've known countless wiccans of all ages, and never have i come across anything in their rituals that was evil, yet some people in here claim this to the be case.

if you left wicca or any branch of paganism because of it's evils, what were they? please be specific and honest.

(i asked this recently and didn't get any answers from whom i directed it to, so i'm trying again. thanks to all who answered the first time)

I think the 'evils' are that it's simply against God's word. I have a friend who's wiccan and I do not see anything wrong with it. She doesn't raise any demons or talk to demons. What she does do is use natural stuff (which obviously is God's creation) like herbs and stone and that sort. God gave it to us, why not use it? Especially if it's for a good cause. I don't see any actual evil to it. If the bible said that it was ok to do magick, I'd probably be doing it! But because it says not to, I haven't. Generally, in my opinion, it's not evil. People think it's evil because the bible says so and it says not to do it. I am a Christian, but I am not going to say wicca is evil. And I don't think any Christian has that right. God knows all and only he can tell you for certain. Ask him if you want a real answer.

Actually, I left once, for a time, because I was trying to hold a marriage together, and my (now) ex was heavily Christian. So, I did the whole book-burning crap and tried to go to church and such. I found the services empty and meaningless, and in the end, the marriage failed. It was doomed to anyway.

I'm now an ordained Pagan minister. I know the truth of my own faith, and I recognize that the only reason Christians feel Wicca is evil is because they believe that only their own religion is not evil. They see everyone else as deceived by their Devil. In fact, many Christian denominations believe that most other Christian denominations are decieved as well.

I've never met a Pagan who was posessed. I've never met a Wiccan who worships the Christian devil. I've met some evil people who call themselves Christian. I've met some evil people who call themselves Wiccan. In the end, it wasn't Christianity or Wicca or Paganism, or any religion for that matter that made these people evil; it was their own self-serving hedonistic interests that did so.

Religions are mere paths. They can be used by anyone to serve whatever purpose they choose. I choose to use my faith to be the best person I can be, and to help others do the same.

i've got merely ever heard of Wiccans leaving Wicca just to teach around and get in touch with it evil in some particular circumstances. One became an Evangelical Christian author who claimed to have been an ex-Wiccan, yet has for the reason that been shown to be a fraud. The others have been ex-husbands or ex-different halves of Wiccans who have been suing for toddler custody, and utilising lack of information and fake effect of the religion against their ex in court docket. So, once you hear approximately ex-Wiccans calling Wicca evil, they are probably the two bitter ex-different halves/husbands, or Evangelicals who're mendacity approximately their former Wiccan involvement. yet most of the people i know who left Wicca do not do it by using fact they think it to be "evil." frequently, they bypass away Wicca peacefully and respectfully, for the reason that direction now not works for them. they tend to bypass in considered one of a few particular instructions -- the two faraway from any form of prepared faith, into some *** or New Age direction, or to a deeper and greater pleasing Neopagan Reconstructionist direction. Wicca frequently acts as a gateway into Neopagan and Magickal paths. that's a beginning factor, and a number of of Wiccans come to a think approximately their direction the place they the two opt for something deeper, or they provide up on faith all at the same time.

I left Wicca for other Pagan paths. Actually, most of the ex-Wiccans I know are still Pagan. Some leave Wicca because they want something with more substance, more historical validity, more structure, or less dogma. And some leave, not because of it's "evils" but because they see Wicca as too "white light," too fluffy.

Evil is decided by your own mind. It's very possible for someone to believe Wiccan Rituals to be Evil, because 'Evil' is based on Opinion.

Though I would not call the Wiccan beliefs and practices "evil" I have been unable to reconcile their polytheistic views with my own. I refer to myself as a Pagan-Influenced Christian. I worship only the Holy Trinity but use Pagan rites and spells as a means of connecting with my Creator. (as well as prayer and other "traditional" forms of Christian worship. I view God as the Author of all magick and magick as simply natural laws of the Universe He created. I can't speak for others to whom you've directed your question but there's my personal opinion.

Brightest Blessings

If you're interested, you can meet with more former Wiccans and speak with them here...

I gave up Wicca for Christ a long time ago, and I've never regretted it once.

When wiccan magics and spells failed to help me fend off psychic attacks and spiritual harassment, I decided to humble myself, and call out to the Christian God to save me.
Almost immediately afterward, I noticed a profound yet subtle change in myself and my attitude. I was finally able to see the occult for what it really was; a sham. My involvment in Wicca and similar studies had not really improved my life at all, simply made it harder, and more complicated. My life began to turn around. I was no longer plagued with misfortune, as I had been when I practiced magic(k). I had been relinquished from the spiritual evil my involvement in Wicca had attracted, and I was very grateful.

Now, I share what I've learned with others, and try to help other people avoid what I went through by showing them that Christ and the Holy Spirit hold far greater power than occult rituals and pagan idols.

Wicca is not evil, but it attracts some people who don't want to submit to a higher being and thus use the occult for selfish purposes. It may not be their original intent but in doing so they open up a Pandora's Box not many of them are skilled enough or evolved enough to deal with.
As human beings, we will all slip up and do the wrong thing sometimes. Now imagine someone making some very bad mistakes that knows just enough to be dangerous. In addition to harming themselves at some point, they will harm others at some point. Unless they are very disciplined and have strong integrity, and exceeding character.
But the irony is this: the movement attracts people who don't want morals clearly defined in the first place. You do the math. Human beings at this stage of evolution just don't have it in them to be good all the time.
A few individual Wiccans perhaps, but a large percentage, no. They are human like anyone else and prone to negativity like anyone else. Now imagine that with an attitude that there is no judgement in the Universe, that it is kind of like a free for all, aything goes, and you are ok as long as you have good intentions.
There are no boundaries. There is no moral compass. You may meet some that are the kindness, most beautiful folks in the world. There is no moral compass. The Wiccan Rede is not a moral compass. It also doesn't apply to many situations that are complicated. And a human being just doesn't know as much as a divine being to determine how an act may hurt someone down the line.

There is belief in a 3 Fold Law which states that what you send out will return to you times 3. Well, I wish that worked to prevent everybody from sending out nasty stuff. Have you ever eaten a donut when you really knew you shouldn't and you got sick later?
Bottomline with that one is: the world is full of self-destructive people who will take others down with them, 3 fold or not.

Lastly, I have found that many (but by no means all) Wiccans accept what they are told blindly and are uneducated and ignorant of their origins, similiar to unenlightened Christians.

I stopped using witchcraft when the Christ Spirit, God, and angels started protecting me from my highly advanced ex who was using black magick against me.

Always run from people who know a lot magickally, but very little morally.
