So then..

It is the Soul thing..

and yes.. i poked alittle fun at you.. But, shouldnt you be used to it. You cant be apart of such a controversial Religion and not expect people who disagree to poke fun.

AND>> i really did just want your guys reason..

i have heard alot of conflicting reports.. but all the LDS where i live, ( and i live in a city that is LDS owned and operated) are very judgemental, holier than thou, stuck up people..

so i was hoping maybe here i might find some LDS who i dont hate to answer my question.

None of the above, but D works.

Someone once told me that Catholics have a lot of children because they drink, Mormons have a lot of children because they don't drink.

That is all you get since you really could careless about the real reason and you just want to poke fun at our beliefs.

Edit**

We may be used to people making fun, but that does not mean we like it. I don't know about everyone else, but I am willing to share with anyone- even if you never want to be converted, as long as you are respectful of our beliefs. I answered your question in email though. But for the most part if we think you are making fun of sacred things - we will not answer.

Oh and A.- is completely wrong- we don't think that only a certain number of souls can make it into heaven- we think that there is unlimited space for anyone who accepts the gospel of Jesus Christ and lives worthy and righteous lives.

You must live in Utah.

To bring their little souls to earth. And not ALL LDS have a big batch of kids. Too expensive these days. Married love is highly approved of by Mormons, just as it has been traditionally by those of the Jewish faith. And no one should have a problem with that.

D is the closest.

The Bible teaches us to multiply and replenish the earth and to have joy in our posterity.

Our modern prophets encourage the same.

I've never heard responsible and loving parents say "We wish we would have had half as many children". I have heard LOTS of people say that they wish they would have had more.

Perhaps God knows that children bring happiness and he's passed that secret on to his prophet.

None of the above, the heavenly Mother (S) and I stress hevenly MOTHERS because I was taught there was more then one wife, had many spiritual babies and the mormon women on earth were trying to get as many heavenly babies born to mormon families as they possibly could. There was suppose to be a certain number of spiritual children born in heaven and when that number wore out, then the second coming of Jesus would come, but until then, the mormon women were commanded to have baby after baby after baby.

F) More children increases the probability that one will have a nice retirement! (I mean if you have 12, one is bound to be successful).

But in all seriousness, I think its just a cultural norm: no different than our infatuation with jello or affinity to gaudy granny parlor shop decor.

I don't know but I do know there's a lot of open space out there in Utah. are LDS families typically large?

Not all of us have a lot of children. Some of the L.D.S. families I know have had two or three children. Some have chosen not to have any.

we're secretly plotting to take over the world by out-populating everyone else.

seriously, if this is your idea of a joke, I assure you I am not laughing.
