The fact that the screen shows only green indicates that you've lost both the red and blue color signals. This is more likely due to a failed video amplifer chip rather than a damaged CRT (picture tube). It could also indicate a failed chroma circuit. If it is a plasma or LCD, it would similarly indicate a faulty driver chip or bad connection to the display.

In either case, it will require a technician to troubleshoot and repair. If it is only 4 months old, it should still be under warranty. Check the paperwork that came with it. Hopefully it will cover both parts AND labor.

Consider that with labor costs as they are, it may be cheaper to replace the TV than repair it (if ti is a CRT type); and your new TV will come with new a warranty.

My sister in law had the same problem with the signal from the DVD player. But a "Demo" channel from her HDTV box was full colors.

Loose component cable behind the DVD player.

Check your wires.

Hmm, have you tried changing the colour settungs by pressing Menu on the remote and navigating to them from there?

Happened on my PC once but was the VGA lead

I am guessing, but did someone change the wiring? Please check your wiring red to red video, green to green video, blue to blue video. if all the wiring is good. One of the red, blue or green cables is bad. Please make sure, the audio red, and white are properly connected. This should fix your problem.
