I'm working hard to become an "accomplished woman" so I'll be able to bring my daughter up to be the best woman she can be. At the moment, that means I'm researching homeschooling. I've decided on the Classical method for her education, to be tempered with a lot of Steiner based ideas, especially now in her early years. We're also in the SCA (medieval re-enactment) which is providing opportunities for me to learn a lot of different crafts. I think it's good for the self esteem to be able to do/create stuff. It doesn't really matter in life if you can't knit or crochet, but you still feel good about yourself if you can as opposed to can't.
I'm researching food ethics at the moment, and we're trying to find the best balance between ethics, economy and energy. Our ethical shopping choices have dropped since we've had our daughter, because we just don't have the energy to put in to tracking around anymore. Still, it's important, not just to our health, but to the planet and the rest of it's inhabitants. I think making such an issue important in our lives will help our daughter to grow up with a sense of perspective (how many times did your mum say "You aren't the only one in the world?!) and to feel some responsibility towards the world.
I think the most important things I want to pass on are manners, responsibility and curiousity. It doesn't matter how smart someone is, if they have no manners, a complete lack of responsibility and are bored by everything, they won't go far!
Obviously my daughter is the main focus at the moment, but these are the sorts of things I carry around wherever I go.

To focus on getting the most out of their abilities and moral character, so as to make a difference, in regard to all the very serious problems in this world. To alway, be open to ideas and beliefs of value, where ever they may be found, and never to get so over confident, that they don't listen to possible good advice from others.

First and foremost, my relationship with God and Jesus Christ. My values in that relationship are underpinned by the Word of God.
After that, and as a result: putting the human back in being. Which being translated means being the best, most compassionate person I can be, without necessarily expecting any return. I am not responsible for the behaviour of others toward me, but I AM responsible for mine toward them.
In knowing that Jesus is there for me, I can let go of a lot of stress and worry and projection of future problems, and get on with living the present moment to the best of my ability, with His help and for His glory.
Yes, I mess up and have bad days, or make mistakes. But I know who I am and Whose I am. I would like to pass this knowledge and the confidence it gives to others.

The most meaningful gift that there ever was or ever will be is the gift of eternal life through Christ Jesus. I would want to pass down the gift of the knowledge that Jesus died for our sins. WE can have eternal life! Many people don't even have that knowledge. Also, to love everyone and not to judge. Trust me...that is really hard.... i am not very good at it but it is a good goal!

"It is the fate of all banisters worth sliding down that there is something nasty waiting at the far end." -- Terry Pratchett
If you really want to own it, you probably shouldn't have it. If you really want to do it, you probably shouldn't do it.
If I had to pass down a value set to another person, it would be to learn how to weigh the pros and cons of life. Everything is going to cost you something down the line, but only you can decide if it's worth the cost.

I am not religious but I do believe that you should treat others how you expect to be treated yourself. A smile costs nothing even though some people look at you like you are mad when you smile at them. However, do me or mine any harm and you have made an enemy for life.
I dont care about colour or creed I take people as I find them and like to believe that others will do likewise.

I like this one a lot! It's something you could wear.
Ephesians 6 Amour of God - KJV
11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
