E-4 is the rank. In the Marine Corps that would be a corporal. In the Army, a specialist. It should have no bearing on the medical care you receive.

This is a perfectly acceptable question and deserves an answer. Any member of service can apply for any type of life insurance at any time, not just before a deployment. However, most insurance companies will put on addendum's that will state that if the member of service dies within a certain time of the policy being taken, then no payment will be made. Yes, some insurance companies can refuse to insure members of service but not many do.

E-4 is the pay grade; the rank depends on the service: Army: Specialist or Corporal; Marines: Corporal; Navy/Coast Guard: Petty Officer 3rd class; Air Force: Senior Airman.
The type and amountt of health care would depend on whether the service member was active duty or Reserve/National Guard.

E-4 is Pay Grade. Each Branch has a different rank that it is affiliated with. Army is SPC and CPL (NCO), Marines is CPL.. Etc.
No matter the pay grade you still revieve the same medical care :) which would be through TriWest, TriCare... and theres another for the western coast.
Hope this clears things up! :)

It means they are enlisted with a pay grade of four. In the Army they would hold the rank of Specialist or Corporal.

it's the paygrade of the enlisted person. E stands for Enlisted
4 is the rank or paygrade, most likely a Corporal.
If it were an officer, like a captain, it'd say 0-3.

their rank has nothing to do with what kind of care they receive. it is based on the needs of the individual, not their paygrade. so an E1 with a bullet would would be treated faster than an E6 with a headache.
