I know it's a little late, it's november but could I do an e-file and get my state income tax?

Yes. I live in Maryland, and that is the way that I do my state taxes.. One year, I had to file for an extension, and I was still able to do everything online. And get my money direct deposit within 2 business days....

Check with your state comptroller website to see if this option is available in your state.

Go now to your state department of revenue website and see. I just checked my state and I would be able to file for 2006 online and direct deposit my refund.

Check your state website - some allow this, some don't. As late as it is, your chances are slim, but check anyway.
