It seems that politicians or even normal civilians can't make any anti-immigration arguments without being acused of racism, politicians are scared now of voicing the peoples concerns over this incase they get braned as racist. This seems abit rediculous to me, why can't we have the right to choose who comes into our country?

Am I racist because I'm proud to be British?

Thx for the feed back! Glad most of you agree theres a difference between the two.

Some how we need to clearly separate Racist sentiments from anti-immigration sentiments, Though I have no idea how we could do this as it seems both are now synonmous with eachother.

I agree Leecog, the British National Party just makes everyone who's against immigration look racist and in my view they arnt helping matters at all.

No you are not racist. Here in America we have the magic number of 15 million that have come in over our southern border, but they don't mention that out of the 9 million visas we issue each year, over 3,000,000 stay and hide in the country after the visa has expired*

The 15 million may be bogus also become anytime you mention amnesty they really head north. It is not against the law to want ot retain your culture

Top the border illegals, the visa illegals (from all over the world) and throw in the 1in 7 that are caught at our southern border by Border Patrol that are from terror sponsoring countries and you have a good mix. Trust me politicians as Lou Dobbs states are idiots.

Do you have a pray rug? someone better et the officials to get in motion before we have over 100 million illegals here sucking the blood out of the country. If their country is so bad, then stay, fight and change as we have done. Take care.

Also we have been brow beaten for decades by the liberal media into thinking that we were racist, but they attacked every conservative talking head and it ended with the leader of the senate attacking Rush and he failed on bogus lies. So we now have freedom of speech. This country is not divided as liberal New York 72-28 against the illegal voting and driving, Arizona the same. So it means the democrats have been doing a bunch of voter fraud, in my opinion

Anyway we have freedom of speech again in America. right now they are really calling Lou Dobbs a racist and the sheriff in ArizOna. Go figure. How much do you pay for a pray rug? Take care.

Yes it is . We all know that the immigrants have only come here to steal our taxes and job and who can blame them . The Labour Party have got a lot to answer for . Immigrants have been allowed to do this with the blessing of the Labour Party .

You are not a racist .

All these immigrants that have come to this country in the last ten years or so should be made to go back to their own country .Proper British people should take priority over any foreigner what ever the situation is .

Its a pity the people in the Labour Party are not like you ( proud to be British . )

It's a crime coming here illegally, so they all have committed a crime!!! They refuse to learn English! If you spent 10 years living in another country, don't you think you would try and learn how to communicate with them in their language? Well they don't and if they wanted to become citizens they would have to learn English!!! It's disrespectful to live here and not learn our language! Where do you suppose all the SS taxes they pay in (if they do) goes when they use fake SS #'s? They are a drain on our society's finances. They send most of the money they make back to Mexico instead of spending it here! They expect to have everything we are entitled to when they don't deserve it, since they aren't willing to be citizens! No I don't feel like I'm racist! Try going to Mexico illegally and see what you get!!! If they are so unhappy with their country then they should do something to make it better, not come here and make our country worse!!! Not to mention moving into a nice neighborhood and painting the house bright ORANGE OR PURPLE!!! It LOOKS DISGUSTING!!!!! It would be fine if all/most houses were those colors or if it were by the beach, but not in the middle of a nice subdivision where all the houses blend nicely and look good!!!

Yes. Its also possible to be against the EU/Open Door policy and yet not a member of the NF or BNP.

But try telling that to some of the screaming anti-Nazis on here who shriek "racism" the minute the word immigration is mentioned.

No not really, because various studies have shown that the majority of individuals who are against immigration have little concern about the economical or cultural arguments regarding immigration. Usually it does seem to boil down to race.....

One can compare the relative lack of complaint about polish immigration to the UK today, compared to non-white immigrants in the 70s-80s. At both times the economic arguments were put forward, but many psychologist/political analysts have concluded the reason for favourable opinion of poles is because they are (generalisation here) white, blond and blue eyed.

Some may argue they work hard, indeed they do. But they have not achieved the levels of socio-economic success seen in groups like Indians, Chinese and even Nigerians. Who all contribute more to the UK in tax than they receive. Whose children, generally do better than Caucasian children across all levels of education.

This facts are rarely even pointed out by the press, why? well race has a lot to do with it. If you are one of the few individuals that can give sound cultural/economic arguments for limiting immigration then fine, but sadly for a lot of individuals all it boils down to is that there are too many dark faces on my street.....*

* Also some anecdotal evidence, note that even with the massive rises in the value of properties in the east of London, Caucasians are moving out of the east to Essex and Kent (White Flight). The economist asked many individual families why they chose to forgo increased capital accumulation in the value of their properties. Many honestly stated that their streets no longer felt english or simply that they were too many pa**s or b***ks for their liking.

you have the right to chose who comes to your country,it is called a vote.I am sorry to remind you, that ec citizens have a right to go work where they like within the ec.I been here 20 years, paying my taxes and generating my own work.As England has changed soooo much in the last 20 years I am thinking of going somewhere else in the near future, nothing to do with how many languages are spoken in a building site,my place of work.We had Sundays here a few years back, and they were special days. Now you go out sunday and is as traficy as any other day.A lot of people go out for a night of fun carrying knifes or even guns. Its the way the whole world and our society has become. As far as your question,if you opposed scroungers coming in england only to be free housed and draw bennefits then you would not be branded a racist. If you said ALL foreigners should not be allowed in then,in my opinion I think you would be branded a racist,so it depents on the comment that you may make.

It's difficult, it's like there is a very thin line. I don't think there anything wrong with being against immigration. I guess it depends why people are against it, such as if someone is against it because they don't like the colour of someones skin then would say that's racist. If someone is against it because they feel like there are to many people here, drains on the NHS etc that's not racist at all, there just voicing there opinions, arguments etc. There not saying they don't like them because of colour or anthing. I like that there are immigrants here and people of all different races and cultures but I do feel there are to many people coming here.

The UK is more than likely the most multicultural country in the world

Immigration is effecting all colours that are British Citizens

The sad fact of the matter is that Ethnic British Citizens have one up on White British,

And this is not a slur to them as they are not always the ones who cry the racism card it is our politicians who do on their behalf without them asking them too

The PC brigade and our Politicians are the ones who have spread racism not the general public!

The truth is now if you British (Whatever your ethnic background) your buggered but if your British and White then give up!

amazing! some of these answers are appalling.
What the hell has racism got to do with immigration?
it doesnt matter where you are from, it doesnt matter what colour, shape or size you are. who cares if you are from a country with problems or country without them, who cares what language you speak. Nobody! immigration is simply a problem because of itinerant migrants that are simply overpopulating our country. its a huge problem and a lot of them are criminals that are not welcome in their own countries and see us as an easy touch. what the hell makes you a racist for seeing a problem with immigration. Pathetic.
