OK my bridesmaids and MOH are wearing the same type and color of dress.

Besides the obvious "she's standing beside you" answers, what ideas do you have in order to differentiate between MoH and the Bridesmaids?

I have a few ideas but would like to hear others.

Thanks!

BTW, the colors are Royal Blue and the wedding will be on the beach. June 2008.

The dress they will be wearing is this:

BUT in ROYAL BLUE. Just an FYI :)

Oh also, NONE of my girls are complaining. I'd just like to do a little something to let my MoH stand out a little bit more :)

you could do
- larger bouquet
- different jewelry
- a wrap to wear with the dress

I like the idea of getting her a wrap with the dress color and some others in it to wear for the ceremony, assuming that you are not having a train on your dress that would require her fixing your dress during the ceremony.. I don't like the hairstyle b/c I think everyone should make their own hair decisions.

It's all about the accessories. I am also having a beach wedding, aqua and silver are my colors. You could have your MoH carry a slightly different bouquet, different jewelry, different hair-do, but a shawl or wrap would probably distinguish her the most. If it's warm out, your bridesmaids won't need a wrap, and you could give your MoH something very light, like a chiffon wrap. Hope this helps, congratulations and good luck!

I'm having my MOH in a different dress but the same color as the other bridesmaids.

Everyone suggested the other ways, different bouquet, different hair piece or jewelry.

I just wanted to remind you that your MOH will be holding your bouquet and hers for part of the ceremony, so if you plan on differentiating with the bouquet, keep that in mind. I think that doing her hair differently or putting something in her hair would be your best bet. Good luck and Congrats.

The only thing we are doing different is putting my maid of honor in a totally different dress and all the other bridesmaids will be in the same dress. All of the girls will have on the same kind of jewelry (my gift to them), same color shoes, same bouquets and all. She just will have on a different dress. Hope this helps.

I really don't think you need to differentiate between the maid of honor and your bridesmaids. But, if you feel it's necessary give her a special bouquet that stands out just a little bit more than the others.

during the introductions, the MOH would be announced as such. MOH would have a different or slightly larger bouquet.
Maybe different jewelry. Also, could you give the MOH a sash in a coordinating color so she stands out a little from the other girls?

Use a slightly altered bouquet. Something that looks very much like the bridesmaid bouquet, and is somewhere between the bridesmaids' and the bride's bouquet in size.

A larger bouquet, a more elaborate headpiece, perhaps some additional trim or accent piece on the dress, like a different bow color? Those should do the trick.

The only thing we do in my family is the MOH carries a different bouquet.
