I don't know that RCR as a team has ever been THAT dominant and I don't think they would be the top team if Dale Sr. was still alive. Yes, Sr dominated but the other teams there were sort of like test cars for the 3 team. They were not near as good from top to bottom the way some of elite teams of today are. Roush and Gibbs have been pretty solid as a whole for much the same time that HMS has looked good. Remember just a couple of years ago when everybody thought that Jack had the monopoly with all 5 of his cars in the chase. Gibbs had 3 champions between 2000 and 2005. Roush had back to back champs in 2003 and 2004.

Hendrick was dominant this year because they had the C.O.T figured out long before anyone else. They did their homework.
Roush has had some good years, JGR, RCR, DEI, Robert Yates has had limited success.

I think what we'll find in 2008 is more parity. With the other teams "figuring out" the C.O.T., and with Toyota having a year under their belt, Hendrick Motorsports won't have the clear-cut advantage they enjoyed during the earlier C.O.T. races.

I think 2008 will come down to who is best at driving these cars.

I think when Dale Sr. got killed he was about done winning races, he would have been by now, running DEI and in my opinion Richard Childres. Jack Roush, Robert Yates,
Rick Hendrick and Joe Gibbs would be pulling their hair out
I don`t know if Jr. would have won a championship or not
but if not ,he might be selling new Chevy Trucks at his Daddy's car Dealership,Dale had so many things to share with people ,its really to bad we`el never know,,
But to ans. the question I don`t think so they did dominate the plate races but thats all

Yes, the #3 was dominate in the early 90's but would have had a challenge from the #28 had Davey Allison not been killed in the helicopter crash.
If Dale Sr was alive, DEI would be much better, Jr would have a championship, would have never seperated from Eury in 2005.... and would not be leaving.... but Hendrick would still be very very good and probably the best, but DEI would be close... maybe like Gibbs at this point.

When RCR was dominate there were a good dozen to 18 teams that could have won on any given race.Today maybe 6 to 8 could.
But Dale would have DEI on the upward swing and contending.

I dont think that RCR would of had the slump it had a few years back (which I belive can be attributed to Dale's death).

But Hendrick has their stuff straight, I think even now, they would be dominant, though RCR would probably cut into their win total by a few.

No RCR was never as dominant--HMS has saw all 4 of their drivers in Victory Lane this Year. If Dale Sr. was still living DEI would be much More competitive!!!!

RCR had a dominant driver in the number 3, but have never really had several drivers simultaneously perform like the Hendrick drivers have. Jack Roush has had several years where he had multiple drivers do well.

i do not imagine it extremely is the way it went. very last twelve months Rick hadn't determined what to do with the 5 motor vehicle yet then some issues happened to solidify his determination. First, Kyle received the first COT race ever, at Bristol, and in basic terms blasted the COT and NASCAR in victory lane. Then, a pair weeks later he brought concerning the damage at Texas, appropriate to Jr, that positioned his motor vehicle interior the storage for upkeep. Kyle took his marbles and went abode (he left the song) and then they were given the 5 motor vehicle repaired sufficient to run some extra laps. that is at the same time as Jr. were given the okay to end the race in Kyle's motor vehicle. Rick changed into getting extremely annoyed with Shrub's lack of appreciate and professionalism and Jr. grew to develop into accessible. Rick did not take lengthy to grant Jr what he needed. I do trust that Kyle changed into enable flow, regardless of the reality that the pro statement changed into that it turned right into a mutual contract. i do not imagine Kyle were chatting with different vendors on the prompt yet who's well-known with? 3 STR8 N 08!!!

i think if he were alive now, DEI would be a totally different animal and would definately be more competitive. Id love to hear his comments about TOYota, the chase, and the F1'ers and so on.
