Why isn't the Christian life centered around the most important thing in existence?

I'm not talking about being a good person, and being kind to others.
I'm not talking about reading the Bible.
I'm not talking about going to feel-good meetings with your friends.

Why isn't your life centered around the most important thing in existence?

Just by observing the Christian life, we can all see that what you call "most important" isn't really that important at all.

my word, this is unbelievable. Christians don't even know what their lives should be about.

Love, and proclaiming Christ's love in order to help others to salvation... what could be more important?

looks like cpm_2007 is the only one so far that knows what the Christian life is supposed to be about.

Because the world has contrary ideals of what to pursue, mainly worldly goods, and they choose the worldly goods rather than everlasting goods in heaven and trying to spread that to others by sharing the Joy of Christ Jesus, that he died for your sins to reconcile you with the Lord. 1 Peter 5:8, most people don't "stand up under [satan]" they just embrace satan.

First, what, in your opinion, is the most important thing?

Secondly, I do agree. We all major on minors (Christians and otherwise). For the most part, we Christians have not done the cause of Christ a lot of good. We have become a very poor reflection, but there are those who earnestly are trying to be the image of Christ in the world. As a case in point, check out The Irresistible Revolution by Shane Claiborne

I keep getting all these huge indications there may be a God who listens to my prayers. Okay, my wishes, my wants, my needs. I seldom actually pray, and when I do they are almost never granted, extremely rarely. However, a mere need, a want, an unexpressed desire is rather often met. It just happened the other day, it was literally a one in a million shot, a coincidence it would happen at all, let alone happen at just the right time. I think people who wrote the Bible and started other great religions were trying, sincerely trying very hard, but somehow their understanding was limited by our inherently and obviously limited human capacity.

i dont really understand you question but im dissapointed by religion too so i became an atheist ... i belive god doesnt exist so is the devil ... i belive they where invented to embody the good and the evil ... not as real persons ... if i dont belive in god that doesnt make me a bad man ..im far better than more of the so claimed religious man out there ..i still do good things ..and the most important is that i do good not because of the fear of being sent to hell or punished by a god..but because that is how i feel its right :D

What???

And your observing the wrong thing... Observe Jesus' life while he was on earth, that's what you and every other true christian, should be following. And then find the religion today that truly follows in his footsteps.
Then you'll find your answers....
(hopefully you find your question first)
