Satan as a fallen angel is not scripturally true. It is simply a church tradition that has come to be seen as fact. The only two Old Testament mentions used by Christians to support this belief can be found in Isaiah 14:12 and Ezekiel 28:12. The problem though with both of these verses is that they are not at all a reference to Satan, but to the kings of Babylon and Tyre. Over the centuries as Christians became more educated in the scriptures they began to ask where the promoting verses were located. So certain fathers such as Jerome created some. There is mention of the fall in Revelation, but it has to be taken into consideration that this is a book of symbolism and it is very late in its authorship. Ask any Jew today and he will tell you Satan never fell. It is still beside God obeying His commands. But think about it, what power would the church have without some mythical bogeyman to scare you? - God Bless! +?+

when? before the earth was created in physical form[GEN 2], but after it was created in spiritual form[GEN 1]. your 2nd question may be answered with a grain of salt, please. I to have wondered about this, Does not make me wicked....but what if all is true as in the scriptures: 1/3 rebelled and was cast down with Lucifer-now Satan as their leader. Is not GOD with infinite mercy. could He not have a love for these fallen, say in another plane, as not to effect the plane where the 2/3s that did not fall get bodies and are tested?
If in this parallel plane, the 2/3s are not spirits enbodied, like in this plan but instead prison gaurd/angels enbodied & the 1/3 do not fall, but get bodies and a chance to take the test.
Here's the kick in the teeth...this is that alternate plane, we are the fallen. That's why human are so damned wicked.

According to author Joseph Campbell, one of the formost authorities on comparative religion, Satan was an angel. After God created man he ordered the angles that they should serve man before him. Satan refused, saying that man was not worthy of such a great gift and as a result of his rebellion was cast out of heaven.

He isn't, but that won't stop the members of a certain religion from telling people that he was. The Satan is God's D.A. He has a specific job appointed and approved by God. He's a totally different character from the "Devil" of christian theology. The "Devil" called Satan of Chrisitan theology is more like the character Set of Egyptian theology. Hey, when you take over a nation that already has it's own set of beliefs, you have to make accomodations to get them to buy into yours. Romans Emperors never did believe the theologies they authorized for their followers, they just saw it as a useful tool for convincing their newly conquered subjects that they shouldn't revolt.

Lucifer became the fallen angel when PRIDE made him think that he could be greater than God.
Read Proverbs 6:16-19. There you will find what the Lord my God hates.

Satan was not an Angel. He was Jinn (as per Quran). He fell when God breathed life in Adam's statue, completed his creation and commanded all Angeles and Satan to prostrate to Adam for as God says Humans are the best creation of God. Satan refused to prostrate to Adam saying I am from fire and Adam is from dust considering himself superior. That is when Satan fell from his status of pious and obedient servant of God.
God created:
1. Angeles from Light
2. Jinns from Fire
3. Adam from the extracts (proteins, minerals, water etc)
from dust of earth.
