Ok i live near alot of spanish people mostly puerto rican. I heard some guy talking about someone & he kept reffering to him as 'El Moyo'. Someone told me this is a slang term for a black person. Is that true? Is it a bad word? Do they only say this in PR or do other countries say it too? Thanks. 10 points for the best answer.

No its NOT 'el morro' I know what el morro is. Ive been to PR 4 times. I am 100% positive its 'MOYO' b/c I have even seen it spray painted on walls. (i live in Philly). I am not confused. You will not find it in the dictionary b/c it is slang. I speak a little spanish also.

ok I found this on a blog. I told u I know what Im talking about:
"I concur with your comments. When I go visit relatives in Durham, North Carolina, blacks, whites, Central Americans, and Mexicans look at me as if I am from another planet. I guess, blacks are not suppose to be able to speak Spanish. I realize, there's ignorance out there in the world. Growing up in Spanish Harlem as a child, I was called the N word by many whites downtown. Most of my fair skin Puerto Rican friends or relatives didn't experience this. I would state to the racist whites, I am Puerto Rican. They would later come back and say, hey we have a N Sp-c here. This was very painful for me as a child. As an adult later on in life, I have been called a moyo in Spanish by white Cubans"
