The earth is perfectly placed in our solar system. A few miles closer to the sun, and it would be to hot. A few miles away, and it would be too cold. If we were 1% difference, there would not be life. Doesn't that prove that God placed the earth in its place?

Notice I have ignored the fact that within a year, the distance from the sun to the earth fluctuates by 3%.

Atheists, don't you see how all you have to do is ignore facts to prove GOD!

Very nice!

And don't forget, "Look! Something shiny! Goddidit."

And what of the billions of other planets out there that statistically must be also "perfectly placed"?

Also your definition of perfectly placed is completely backward thinking and utterly presumptuous. It is only 'perfectly placed' if somehow it were placed with earth type life in mind. For life that requires a completely different environment earth might very well be toxic.

The only notion that makes any sense at all with the evidence we have is that we and all other life on this planet arose because of the environment that happened to exist. Not the other way around. Your idea is one of many that first presumes god did it then tries to prop up the presumption with facts.

Start instead with the facts and no presumption then tell me how the facts lead to god. No one has ever been able to do this by the way.

I am guessing that this is a subtle form of sarcasm here.

If the Earth was not in the 'Goldilocks zone' then we would not be here.

Considering that the Earth has at times been so hot that it was molten, and so cold that it was covered by ice the 'Goldilocks zone' where liquid water can exist is obviouslt fairly flexible.

You are right, there is nothing like a little ignorance to help prove god.

Whose side are you on? No one has ever proved the existence of any of the myriads of gods men have invented. Many men have tried as hard as they could, so if it could be proven, it would have been by now. When I read the first part of your question, I thought it would be the same as one I saw last week, but you do know that earth's orbit varies by 4,000,000 miloes or more. You are evidently ridiculing the person who tried to say Earth's orbit is so perfect for life. You are indeed correct in your last statement that one must ignore facts to prove gods exist. I add that the Bible is proof that its god does not exist, for quite ignorant authors wrote it.

Keep spinning the fairy tale. You obviously lack faith and need to try and find proof!!! Are you sure it was not another religions God that did it or the golden calf? Perhaps it was the spaghetti monster or the tooth fairy!

You discount evolution and general scientific fact yet pluck imaginary facts out of the blue to try and make your case - I think your logic failed before you started typing!!!

Since the Earth was once outside this orbit and the moon also was much further away lots of things have changed.

If you have to rely on such weak suppositions then the basis of your belief is really on shaky ground!!!

lol... you are funny.

I am not an atheist, but even I see the flaws in your argument. You have taken two unrelated concepts and tied them together. The Amway sales pitch does that too. I know people fall for it because they miss that leap of faith bit where you accept that two factors are related even if they are not.

We have no concept of life beyond our solar system. No one knows if another planet had life. No one really knows if God exists (no matter how strongly they feel on the subject).

Lol. Even though it is sarcasm, I would still like to point out that the myth that the earth is in a "perfect" zone is not only an outright lie from ignorance, it is totally wrong. When they say "1%", creationists fail to mention that they are actually off by 3700%.

If the Earth was somewhere else there would be another planet in the right spot to support life. Try again.

And here I was just going to point out that another form of life may have come about, and that if god was real, then every planet would support life. But then you went and admitted your sarcasm. Well done. You had me fooled.

why does that prove God? LMAO!!

It simply explains why there is life here and not on any of the other planets in this solar system.

Maybe life would have developed differently. Who knows? By the way, if he really were an intelligent designer mosquitoes would suck fat, not blood! (joke alert)
