I don't know about either citrus or cinnamon, but I know that at the pet store I used to work at, we sold a cat repellant in a spray bottle that had a pheremone in it to repel cats, and that worked really well. I'm pretty sure you can find it at any pet store.

We just use a spray bottle, Ive never heard of the cinnamon thing. I read once in a cat book that aluminum foil around the tree would keep them away, but if your cats are like mine, they would just jump over it! LOL I don't know what the citrus thing either my cat LOVES grapefruit!?? So I know that would not work out at my house. Good Luck

I don't know about cinnamon, but citrus is a definite cat repellent. Mothballs work even better, but who wants to smell mothballs at Christmas. There are citrus air freshners. Or you can peel some oranges, eat the fruit and dry the peel in your oven on very low heat. This will repel them. People put citrus peels in places outside where cats are using their flower beds for a toilet!

Sigh.....cats!

I've never tried cinnamon. But there are certain scents that cats don't like, and certainly cinnamon is festive!

Another thing you can try is orange: I've never had a cat who liked the scent of orange.

Good luck!
