This whole "officers don't do anything" argument gets really old. Many officers were enlisted before they became officers (like my husband). I was not in the army before I came in, but I'm a nurse, and I worked hard for four years to get my degree. I'd be in charge of people on the outside too. If you're so pissed off you're being treated badly, better yourself and then you can be in charge of people. I'm damn good at my job, and I can do the "soldier" stuff better than some of my soldiers.

initially, the onus is on you to educate the Sgt in question is inebriated and performing in any way opposite to the Queens rules. There are very massive ameliorations between a civil bar and a military Mess, civil regulation does no longer persist with to a military mess, the Sgts Mess is on military resources, has its own rules and rules and rank of the members performs a huge section interior the functioning of the Mess. If there's a private interior the Sgt Mess he's there interior the means of being a waiter or barman. ignore the "sounds incorrect" hype its the military with its own rules and traditions, if a senior rank including a Sgt over steps the line he to might want to be disciplined by ability of those above him, they are not given carte Blanche to play GOD, it extremely is the Regimental Sergeant Majors prerogative. Human rights! is that the perfect you may arise with?? you extremely do favor to do a touch diagnosis into military rank & structure to achieve an expertise of ways a military purposes, that's different from existence out in Public, the position workers have get entry to to a ferking union, thank God or the military might want to never be able to operate in warfare or peacetime.

We get dumped on and do all the work that the officers and upper enlisted ones don't want to do. We are the backbone of the military... but everyone who is enlisted had to work and earn their rank. So with their time in service they kind of earn the right not to do the crappy work. Officers can go through ROTC or OCS and join the military and not even know the basics on being a soldier. Then since they are an officer they think that they are better than the enlisted and don't have to help out or contribute to anything. We all put our pants on one leg at a time... so why can't the enlisted be treated with just a little respect...

First off CNN is so extremely biased that you can gurantee you arent getting the fool story. Secondly, the bill they are talking about doenst just cover Bush and his cabinet, it also covers any other president who is in office during this conflict, i.e. the future probably democratic president.
My grandfather was an interrogater in Korea and the tactics they used back then were by far a much less human way of treating someone. Today there are so many restrictions on what we can do to get information that it makes it seemingly impossible to get information out of anyone in an expedient manner. The reason why Bush has this bill before congress is because and I hate to admitt it but military personnel have to bend/break the rules in order to get valuable information in order to save lives. Its a dark and ugly truth but it happens and thank God it does because there are countless American men and women over there who would be much worse off if they hadnt.
And to the guy above me who says he is a vet, just remember that we volunteered for the job. You may have been drafted, but I dont know your specific circumstances. But dont dare for one second think that those of us who volunteered for this conflict wouldnt be willing to give the ultimate price in order to protect our country and our families. And if you think that this war is a waste of human lives, think again. I have personally seen the smiles on little kids faces when we took them humanitarian supplies. I have seen the joy in the populous when we took down torture camps from the regime leaders. I have seen the tears that the old men shed when they got running water for the first time and their mosque walls were repaired. Its not a waste, its a sacrifice. It's called Duty and its based off of a deep sense of Honor, Courage, and Committment.

I don't see your point... the Yahoo! news article discusses a Colonel being tried... that's NOT a low rank.
I served for 15 years... started as an airman (buffing floors, plane-captain, funky watches... all the lousy-jobs), and worked my way up to Lieutenant Commander (O-4).
I just don't see this "whining" that the low ranks get "screwed" by having to do the "dirty" jobs... it isn't a communist force... there are ranks/pay-grades, and you work your way UP. An officer has a GREAT deal more responsibility

Excellent question I do have to say,but every soldier has a different point of view on how they feel about those dirt bags in Washington.
I myself feel Bush (Texas-Idiot) n (Darth Vader-Cheney),should both be put on trial for all the lying they did leading up to this war and one year be added for every U.S.military personnel that has died and continues to die until they all come home how does that sound and yes!I am a veteran as well as my son a Marine, and point blank I hate Bush &Cheney, they r the worst since Richard Nixon, actually I think they are worser then Nixon,my own opinion.

What new about it? Officers in the military get away with at the most 'Letter of Reprimand". The enlisted get dumped on, there is no equal treatment. It should be equal treatment for all, not high ranks covering for their peers.
