It depends on what he said. If he made a joke, try to play it off and never do it again. If he had an ounce of seriousness in his voice, go by his office and apologize. Let him know that you had a rough night last night - then, never do it again if you can help it. Or take a nap during lunch to re-energize if you fee a doze coming on.

Why did you sleep during working hours, were you sick or simply feeling sleepy ? In future if you were sleepy, you should go apply for a leave and go home to sleep, if you were sick, go see your company's doctor or at least inform your manager that you were not feeling well and need a little rest, then go to the pantry to sleep, don't sleep in front of your co-workers.
As for what had happened, the most you could do is to apologise and explain to your manager that you weren't feeling very feel that day and you just fell asleep in the office and promise him that you are not gonna do that again. Don't worry it would be fine, nothing to be embarassed about once you have given him the explanation.

Nothing. What can you do? Just try not to fall asleep again.
If you're working in the US, the fact that the manager said something to you in front of everyone doesn't mean he wanted to embarrass you, especially. And embarrassment isn't considered so horrible, anyway. Managers don't try to be tactful and careful of people's feelings, the way they do in some other countries.
Everyone expects that your bad feelings will be gone in an hour or a day, and that you'll laugh about it and not fall asleep again. (Get to bed earlier, if you can.)

Find out if your medical benefits include a sleep test. I was tired all the time and although I never fell asleep on the job I was cranky a lot and "zoned out". I thought I wasn't getting enough sleep at night but the sleep test showed I was getting a great nights sleep. Turns out I have narcoleptcy I"m just really good at fighting off the sleep. It's more common than you think and doesn't really happen like in comedy movies.

The best thing to do would probably be to let it go now, and resolve not to fall asleep at work again. There's always coffee! (However, your manager sounds a bit ill-bred for embarrassing you in front of others. Be polite but not too friendly to him.)

Watch your step and DON'T FALL ASLEEP again! You can be disciplined and even fired for it. Get proper rest at night and during any breaks you may have, but not while you're supposed to be working.

If this just happened today, you might want to comment that the cold medication you are taking is making you sleepy. You'll have to find something else. :)
