Of course! Didn't you know that I, as a woman, am suppose to be uneducated, pregnant and barefoot...and have dinner on the table by the time my husband is home? And if my husband hits me....it is 'cause I deserved it!

On a historical note: We weren't founded as a "christian nation" and that is clearly laid out in the Bill of Rights, by granting us the freedom of religion. Also, In God We Trust wasn't added to our currency until the mid 1800s. We created a "christian nation", and a "white nation" and "male nation" for that matter, by ignorance over the many years and are still trying to overcome it after all these years!

America is a Christian nation because the founding fathers based the constitution on Christian beliefs. However, that isn't what makes it a Christian nation today...that's a result of our political philosophy. The U.S. is a nation "of the people, for the people, and by the people". In a democracy, the government is a reflection of the will of the people. The identity of the country is, by definition, a function of the identities of the people. Like it or not, a little more than 75% of the population of America identifies themselves as "Christian".

Before the Columbus re-discovered the Americas, the Pope in Rome made a decree as to own all the land that may exist from the East to the West and from the North to the South that were not Christianised.

People are Christian or not, nations are neither.
that is a very silly concept.
The same as God Bless America, He blesses Americans but not nations.
the very idea of nations and governments goes against Jesus's teachings.

Forget founding fathers. Just look at Congress. Or Senate. Or the Supreme Court. Or all of the Presidents.

Yep.
