well my longtime love affair with nascar will certainly wane. but i digress. what i really wanna know is will the J&J love affair end or will it continue to blossom into the future? the headline in Yahoo Sports news reads 'Title Contenders Maintain Friendship'. Sounds like some Days of Our Lives drama between two people remaining lovers through all the turmoil. Such a heart warming article. Sickening! I guess its someones job to create drama and love stories though. thank god its almost over. Its been like watching an episode of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood when we should be watching someone getting tire marks put on their car. Dont get me wrong, Mr. Rogers rocked back in the day but im not tuned in to watch hand puppets and Mr. McFeely (strange name for a Postal dude on a kids show huh??). Anyway i guess i will be glad when the J&J love affair is over. This doesnt mean my love affair with Gloria is over though does it baby? I cant live without your big red nose!

I think whoever the loser is, is who will drive harder next year, be more surley and bump draft and put tire marks on more next season. I think at the least its gonna create a rift between the two. Who knows they may continue like they are off track though.

I think the friendship will continue, although it might not have a year or two ago. Jeff has much more going on in his personal life these days and he seems quite satisified with his situation. He seems okay with sharing his star status at HMS with JJ. If the impossible were to happen and JG stop winning races, things might change, though. With, the addition of Dale Jr next year, he will have another teammate to share the spotlight with. We'll see.

I can relate to what your saying, it does seem like it's been a Jimmy/Jeff show, or a Jeff/Jimmy show. Lets not give up though 08 is gonna be tons better! Junior is gonna start winning some races, and even give Tony a while to get the Toyota thing figured out. Tony will too! Hopefully 08 will be totally different!!!! So you and Gloria with the red big nose are in love. huh? You need to tame her down some, she is Mean. huh?

I really don't think that there is a love affair. I think that Jeff & Jimmie are friends, not close friends, but friends. I think they are both fierce competitors. I know the media made a huge deal out of the Martinsville race when Jeff was bumping Jimmie pretty good for the win, but they got over it & moved on. Next year is gonna be really interesting w/ the addition of Jr. & HMS is going to continue its dominance until another team steps up & takes their crown.

Why would it end? They will still be teammates next year. Gordon is making a fortune off of Jimmie why be angry? Everyone is tired of these guys winning, that is just ridiculous, how can you be upset because they are the best. It's crazy, I can see being jealous or angry because your driver isn't winning, but to fault them for being talented is just nuts.
Next year it's Jeff, Jimmie & Jr. Can't wait! 88 in '08

I don't see team mates having respect for one another as being a problem.
I don't see team mates being friends as being a problem.
The only problem I see here is the press making a big deal out of it.
I thought Jeff walking over with the white flag after the race was a bit "over the top" and unnecessary, he should have allowed Johnson to have the spotlight to himself, but I don't believe Johnson will make an issue about it.

Yup - you have your answer top there. pay attention to her - she is making an attempt to decrease this off asserting she would have the capacity to settle for it and he's not asserting "i won't have the capacity to work out you anymore, i like my spouse and made a mistake with ou" -- he's asserting the right opposite sell off him now through fact he's enjoying you and could shop enjoying you. If he particularly made a mistake and alter into sorry he does not tell this different lady he enjoyed her, that she could desire to watch for him, that he's sorry for what he's putting her with the aid of, etc. He could have instructed her outright if he did no longer care that this is over, he made a extensive mistake, he does not love her and he won't have the capacity to ever touch her back

The guys are friends, that's the bottom line. True friends don't let anything stand between that.
The media and other folks like Rusty Wallace are trying their hardest to create controversy between the two, because controversy makes money. I think it's sad that they're trying to sabotage a good friendship.

what an idiot. its 'fan's like you that make the rest of us nascar fans look bad. love affair? i'm sorry that HMS has two great drivers that people cant find anything wrong with so they have to make up some stupid lame excuse about them being lovers. gordons family is now a huge part of his life, but so is his racing. stop with this stupid love crap that we've been hearing for years. its old, and no one cares about it so shut up and talk about something that really has something to do with racing. GO GORDON #24!!

Great analogies....there's still going to be that relationship between the McFeelys ( J & J)...it gives their fans something more to feed on...without it NASCAR would have to find someone else to be their puppets (King Friday & Lady Elaine) in the land of Make Believe
