It's really sad how librals are exploiting and manipulating confused Iraq war vets, in their attack on Pres bush and the war in Iraq. On one hand I think vets in groups like 'Vets aginst the war in Iraq' are cowards and traitors- on the other hand I think they are confused.....Even still- they are stabbing other American soldiers in the back. Is there a way these vets can be brought up on charges?
All Vets who are partriotic support Pres Bush and the war for freedom in Iraq.

Sometimes I think that any Iraq war vets who speak out against the war shouild be reactivated, and shipped off to the front lines..Im sorry, but I have a hard time forgiving them when they suddenly turn against America.

The goal of the Active Duty military is to Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States of America. This includes the right to disagree. Disagree with policy, the President, the Congress, the Supreme Court, and all the way down to your mayor. Once you are no longer in the military, i.e. a veteran, you have the same rights you fought for. I am a Veteran, while I do not support what they say, I do support their right to say what they do. The Constitution is for everyone. One other example I will give you is the touchiest one there is Pro-Choice vs Pro-Life. No matter what side you are on the other side feels you are wrong. The Constitution gives you the right to disagree and that is the right side of the argument.

Just remember freedom is not free. Many have given up their chance to become veterans by dieing on the battlefield for what they believed in. I am proud of my service. I think the war in Iraq should be won. I am also so proud of the Vets against the war in Iraq.

EDIT: You added this paragraph "Sometimes I think that any Iraq war vets who speak out against the war shouild be reactivated, and shipped off to the front lines..Im sorry, but I have a hard time forgiving them when they suddenly turn against America."

I stand by what I said up above. I am deeply offended by your Additional Edit to the question. Once you are a Veteran you are free to say what you want, when you want and how you want. I wonder if you have ever worn the boots of an active duty soldier. Like I said I am offended by your words, but I support your right to say them.

Answer: No.
Here's a better question:
We are a country with friendly neighbors and oceans on our borders. Why do we spend 50% of our tax revenues on the military, when even China only spends about 6%? Why are we spending $2 billion per week bogged down in Iraq, other than because it makes money for some rich people, who have the poor and middle classes fight their wars? And don't tell me: 9/11. All the shiny new B2 bombers in the world would not have saved us from 9/11 and a government that ignored all of the warnings about Al Qaeda being poised to strike using airplanes, and that we should secure our cockpit doors. All it took was a few determined guys with box cutters and a poorly managed intelligence service.

So when did it become traitorous to have an opinion different from the presidents?
Last time I checked we in this country had a right called Freedom of speech.
I am a Vet. I disagree with the conduct of the war. I guess I need to be shipped off so all you right thinking americans can lead us to whatever hell you believe in
BTW Are you a Vet? Active duty? Would you call someone who was Special Forces a coward and traitor to thier face or only hide facelessly behind a keyboard?

I think you are being very biased. Just because an Iraq war vet doesn't agree with the president's decisions does NOT make them a traitor. What position are you even in to say anything like this? Have you ever served? I wouldn't think so by the way that you are talking on this question. Most Iraq vets didn't know that we were going to be fighting Iraq for unjust reasons when they swore in. They have every right to be unhappy with President Bush's decisions. They are not confused, they have been there, done that, and saw what was going on and why it is going on. That's why they are sure about their attacks on Bush and the war. Your very biased and cowardice yourself to say that people that don't support bush are not patriotic. The most passionate patriotic people I know are left side. And we are not fighting for freedom in Iraq. Who cares anyway? Why should that be any of our business? We should kill thousands of our soldiers just because we think Iraq needs freedom? I beg to differ. Watch the news and read up... Maybe talk to an Iraq vet and see what they have to tell you. It's not pretty over there, my husband is in Iraq right now. You need to be educated on the situation... Stop being an angry Bush loving republican and start looking at the reality of the situation. People are getting killed... Families are being torn apart. Why? Think to yourself...

Actually they can be under certain circumstances-if they are still in the military, Reserve (including inactive/standby) or National Guard they are violating the UCMJ. That would be the only circumstances and even the inactive reserve would be shaky from a political backlash standpoint and possibly a legal one. Your last statement is not necessarily true though-I know a couple who are patriotic and support the troops and even the war but do not support President Bush.

I thought you had to be on active duty - or inactive reserve to be charged for speaking out against the Commander in Chief. You need to remember that these militray service people went to defend the rights we all have under the First Amendment.
We have freedom of speech.
They have the right to exercise it.
So do you.
I feel it is patriotic to OPPOSE Bush and Bush's war and I am not alone either.

I believe in Free Speech and know that some of those who are returning are heroes and question the position in Iraq. There are many more that do not and each should be provided the opportunity to speak their mind after leaving the service. I for one however see a bright outcome in the Middle East with our "stay the course" policy. We are not only winning the hearts and minds of the Iraqis but we are changing the face of Middle East countries that are now prosecuting Al Qaida and the Taliban for murderous acts of violence. Some of these countries are Jordan, Yemen, Egypt, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq.

I strongly disagree.

My views of the war aside (I think withdrawal right now would be a colossal error) there is nothing traitorous about disagreement with the government, nor is there anything patriotic about holding the party line when you feel it's wrong.

Those vets put their lives on the line to defend our country and did what was asked of them; if anyone has earned the right to criticize (not that we NEED to earn it as Americans), it's them.

No Way! They have a right to their opinions just like everybody else! They have the most experience and have seen the impact on the area, they have the most informed opinions. They can't be charged for disagreeing and trying to change our course of action. It's people who disagree and express their idea that make America freaking awesome!

Personally, I think those Americans who want to punish other Americans for exercising their Constitutional rights are the real traitors. What charges do you think you should be brought up on? Leave the brave and clear-thinking vets alone.
