Hard to tell if your bipolar unless you talk to a professional. Quite possibly just depression. It can be in swings of a couple of hours or weeks. Drinking and drugs makes this worse, it helps that you realized that already.
It might help to listen to music, or read a book. It keeps your mind occupied so you don't think about problems. keep your eyes lifted. While depressed, you tend to keep looking down. Even if you tilt your head down, look up. Seems it's hard be depressed if your eyes are not looking down.

You should seek professional help in case it is something like a chemical imbalance. Also you may not know this, but when you drink and take drugs, you deplete the serotonin in your brain along with the dopamine which are the substances your body needs within your brain in order to feel happy. So in one sense, you are creating your own problem. Get a good counselor, check into the possibilities of an out-patient drug and alcohol treatment group, get your system cleaned out thoroughly and then see how you feel about yourself. There is also NA and AA, Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous that is there to provide help for free. I have been where you are now and I have cleaned up my act and feel 100% better about myself and my life. Remember, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is the definition of insanity. This won't come your way like a city transit. You must do the work to get well on your own. If you want a change and seek after it, you will find it. The help is out there. Lots of luck!

Im not sure you sound bipolar from your post but you could be clinically depressed. It might be worth going to your Doctor and having a chat. They are a lot better with depression these days. The drinking and drugs will make things ten time worse for you. I hope that you find a way of coping with life without resulting to such things. Good luck for the future! xx

I doubt you are bipolar- it sounds to me like you've just been caining it too much.

Of course you will feel down after taking drugs and drinking, your brain and body are recovering.

I would advise you to take a break from the booze and drugs and start looking after yourself. Eat healthily, do lots of exercise and get out and about- don't give yourself time to dwell on being down.

Trust me after a few weeks of taking care of yourself your mood will be lifted and you'll be in top notch to start sorting out why you are not happy with your life at the moment

totally understand you. Certainly drinking will not help the situation at all. You must get support.

All the best.
