It happened to me once when I was in college and living at home. I went up into the woods to do a simple Wiccan-style ritual, burning sage, waving my athame about, and someone saw me. I went home, not realizing I was seen, and the cops showed up on my front door. I explained to them what I was doing, and they just rolled their eyes and walked away. Freaked my parents out, though.

Anything like this ever happen to you?

I've had the cops IN a ritual....but not had the cops called.

By a freak occurance, my neighborhood is like 90% Wiccan.

(and, sadly, 80% bunny.)

Nope, but I have freaked out people in my neighborhood who were known theives and vandals. I use some small pyrotecnics from stage magic stuff sometimes for effect if there has been a few of them running in the neighborhood and the word gets spread really quick. I always let my neighbors in on it (they think I do rituals like that just to scare off the bad people, LOL) so they think it is just for show but it works. ;) I live in the bible belt and it is hard to do stuff without a lot of hullabalou over it. Needless to say those that move in usually move out with in a 6 month period. Most of my neighbors are elderly or close to retirement and so they live by the motto - to each his own. I like it that way.
(Gasoline soaked kitty litter can go a long way. LOL)

Sort of....

When I go to a ritual it's usually a group thing and by that I mean about 150 of us. After ritual there is feast and after that revel (drumming, dancing around the bonfire). The drumming and singing got so loud someone called the cops for the noise.

Nope. Thank goodness! :-P

I was fortunate to have a place where I knew I wouldn't be bothered, and that I knew wasn't patrolled at night. I miss being able to go outside for rituals. And now I settle for being inside, since I'm not in a very nice neighborhood...

No, but I live in Oakland CA, right next to Berkeley. It would have to be pretty far out to get the attention of the police.
