Since many people believe sports (Football/Soccer) as strongly as they do religion, i think it's about time we discuss sports here. It beats the same old questions repeating itself for the millionth time. We need new material here.

if some people believe in sports so much, than I guess it belongs here. But, I can't imagine it turning into a religion, because people want higher power, not mere humans who usually go to jail for drugs, dog fighting and other abuses of their wealth and power.

It's okay to discuss sports here, as long as it's related to religion and spirituality. I myself have asked a sports-related question, which is: "Know of any professional sportsmen or sportswomen who are Christians? How have these people impacted your life with their faith? Is there anything we can learn or have learnt from them?"
That question has been resolved, thanks to the kind souls who responded to my question. :)
