My daughter said yesterday her bus driver pulled into George Webbs before school, they waited there for 10 minutes, and then he came out and said they were out of Steak & Eggs.

Am I the only one who thinks this is wrong? Should I say something or is this typical "on the road" behavior and should I not be alarmed?

Never heard of George Webbs, but you should report it.
Something bad could've happened to the kids, and, of course, they could've been late.

EDIT: Actually, most (normal) school buses have cameras, so the bus driver will get caught anyways...

I do not think this 'George Webbs' is a bus stop or is on the regular schedule. Steak & Eggs? If this was part of the neighborhood, fine, but if 'George Webbs' is a restaurant, I would be suprised if people didn't suspect something... the connection between a full school bus while school's in in session. Did the driver miss breakfast?

LOL, if this is a true story, it's completely against policy. In my district, the bus drivers have to account for every single mile driven. Bus drivers are paid by the hour, so any time wasted like that would be caught pretty quickly. If I were you, I'd just call the school and let them know what your daughter told you. Let them sort it out.

Yes it is wrong and should be reported. The bus driver is responsible for those children and they shouldn't be left sitting on the bus alone for 10 minutes while he went to get breakfast. He should wait until after he finishes his route to eat or eat before he starts work.

not normal ask the driver if its true. drivers are not permitted to stop anywhere along their route for any reason. not even for a bathroom break. talk to the driver today when he drops her off. he will deny it i am sure.

you could also call the bus company and talk to them. i wouldnnt be alarmed until i had reason to be and to me this isnt.
yeas its wrong if it is true this driver needs to be punished unless he stopped there with a legitimate emergency . my sons morning driver has had to make one unscheduled stop but he was sick with stomach problems. i was contacted the same morning by the school and made aware of said stop. in that instance it was stop or poo on the bus and he just couldnt. the kids were not alone he radioed ahead and had someone waiting to sit with the kids

I'm not sure what Gerorge Webbs is but I'm guessing it is a resturant. I would report it to the bus company. He should NEVER leave children on a bus alone.

Definitely say something to the transportation company and the principal. This is unacceptable. The drivers of those buses are in control of the children and responsible for their safety and transportation. Going in for a quick bite and coffee (if that is what they were doing) is not right.

Never heard of George Webbs so it's pretty much a moot point

It depends on how tired I'm feeling. It also depends on how shaky and weak the elderly man or woman looks. If they're one of those tough 80 year olds who go for a five mile run every morning, nah. If my legs hurt a lot, I'm not giving up my seat to ANYONE.
