Allow me to make this example, even though I know that belief in God is belief and acceptance of evolution is more objective, it still works:
There are people out there who don't "believe in" evolution, simply because they don't want to...it doesn't jive with the rest of their beliefs. I'm, as you know, not like that; I have no problem accepting evolution or any other science. Now on one level, I don't particularly desire to believe in evolution, it's not like it advances me in life, I simply "believe in" it because I find it to be true.
I don't understand why some people have such a hard time understanding that it's the same thing with my belief in God. Not all Christians have ulterior motives for belief.
I personally can't relate to an epistemology that is limited to empirical proofs, yet I understand that there are several people out there who embrace such a worldview, and I'm cool with it. Live and let live.

I believe in GOD because when I truly needed GOD, GOD was there for me. I'm not a religious fanatic. I believe in religion because lessons like the 10 commandments really helps people if they apply ALL of them to there lives. Religions when followed correctly really makes people better. The thing is where there is light there has to be dark. So good and evil, knowledge and ignorance dance a constant Tango in any temple of worship. GOD ultimate purpose for you is to make you a whole person. We all have to conquer a lot of things to be whole. If U applied the ten commandments to your life and loved everyone in the way you want to be loved I bet you will met GOD.

I agree with that. I've always felt that my beleifs are very personal and came from my own feelings and experience...and am comfortable enough to say that they may not be backed by fact or "proof" but a feeling of contentment with my beliefs... perhaps that is why I'm ok with those that don't believe...and perhaps why I've taken offense to those who call me a sheep or an ignorant..... a certain amount of tollerance is lacking both in the religious and the athiestic... NOT ALL, just in some.

you quite have not have been given any ideal to choose and label your chum's family contributors as they're bigot. in factor of reality that are ideal interior the overlaying component. cover is a ought to, even nevertheless extra or much less cover would not nullify one's Islam yet you needless to say reported: "i will possibly never be a muslim if hijab is a ought to". pay attention, do you recognize what Tawheed capacity? It capacity 3 issues and once you utter the Shahada, you compromise with the "words and stipulations of Islam". in case you deny some thing that's interior the Qur'aan, which exchange into revealed with the aid of Allah (SWT) with the aid of Jibreel and Mohammed (SAWS) then i think of you ought to sit down down and think of what do you honestly need. If some thing quite tiny like a headscarf can tear you different than for Islam then this difficulty is severe and you ought to consult with an imaam/sheik etc. Hijab which capacity cover is a factor of our faith and denying the function of the hijab isn't only no longer effective yet very risky and shows the shortcoming of understanding and faith. look for help till finally you are able to! (I mean till finally you sense you have an interest in Islam and you're saveable/rescuable)

I believe in some sort of Creator because I want to believe. I have seen no proof of its existence. I am a "hard agnostic" and do not believe we will ever have proof one way or another.
I am a theist because I know that at least one deity exists. He is NOT the Creator but is a non-human intelligence capable of effecting human destiny. I belief that other deities exist though I have not had evidence of their existence.

People believe in a higher power to absolve themselves of the idea that we are all alone, aimlessly dancing blindfolded in the cosmic randomness of our solitary existance.
Love is an invisible, scentless, dimensionless awareness that draws upon the human yearning for romantic/erotic/spiritual connection. Does love exist? Do you believe in love? After all, you can't prove it exists, can you?
BUT YOU FEEL IT!!! So you BELIEVE it!
Same with God.
By your logic ---- 'I don't like cats. I don't have a pet cat. So, therefore, cats do not exist'. You're funny.

Even though I'm an atheist, I'll freely admit that I wish I COULD believe -- it would be wonderful if someday I got to be reunited with loved ones long gone, to get a chance to make amends and say all the things that went unsaid while we were alive.
But the sad fact is that so far, we haven't been presented with a single good REASON to believe....

That is not really a valid question. If I think that something exists, then asking if I believe in it because I want to doesn't really make sense.
I believe that the theory of relativity is correct. Does this mean I believe in it because I want to? I believe in it because I think it is a fact, and naturally if something is a fact you believe in it.
The same question could be asked of something like evolution. Do you believe in evolution because you want to? No, you think it is a fact, so you naturally believe in it... because not believing in something that you think is true wouldn't be too smart.

If I take the agnostic view of God then albeit, If I take the atheist view then will I go to hell. If I take the religious view then which one would I choose as there are so so many I cannot decide. So albeit I will sit on the fence until I decide which one is for me.

No, I don't believe in god nor do I want to! (not being rude just my opinion) I am a good person, I believe in good morals just because I do not believe does not mean I am a horrid person or spawn or the devil (whom I don't believe in either)
