I love them. When I get my hair cut I make sure they use the hair thinning scissors cause my hair is so thick and I put layers in my hair besides. But I just love them. Since my hair is so thick I get headaches so when I get my hair cut/or trimmed my stylist uses them all the time. It makes my head feel lighter and a whole lot better. Just put it this way if I color my hair I have to use 3 boxes of hair color and I usually have my hair just below my jaw long down to my shoulders.

If used properly, they can really do wonders for thick hair. I wouldn't attempt it the first time alone, have a professional do it for you. If you thin too much you are SOL, if you thin too closely to the scalp, when hair starts growing in, you see all these little hairs popping out all over the place.
I had one gal who did both on me. I ended up having to go short until it all grew out. Not good when I had thick just passed the shoulder length hair that took me forever to grow out. Otherwise it looked sickly and terrible. When it is done properly it looks great!

here are two prespectives from people who are speaking to me while i type:
1. hate 'em because they can ruin your hair and thinning your hair is unhealthy
2. love 'em because they thin really thick hair and your hair looks so much better after your done
i personally wouldn't know which to go woth.....i guess its beauty or health?

They're a must for me - I get a trim and have my hair thinned every three weeks or so, because it's so thick and it grows so fast! I don't know what I'd do without them!
