I keep mine in the fridge. When they reach the desired ripeness they can keep in the fridge for several days and will keep much longer than if left out on the counter.

I cover them with a fine net cover. It keeps the bugs away and at the same time, keeps the bananas from spoiling due to an airtight cover like plastic shrinkwrap.

The grocery stores where I live sell bannanas in sealed plastic bags, I have found they last twice as long, and no fruit flies!

Eat them faster. Keep gnats away by storing them in the refrigerator.
