Not necessary rejoicing for the situation but in the situation. There is power in Praise!

Why would I want to? I don't rejoice in superstitions that cause so much of the world's trials and tribulations.

I find that rejoicing is what helps me make it through the trials. When I find myself upset or disturbed, I make a conscious choice to praise the Lord and He fills me with the peace I need to endure what I am facing. Although I may not feel like rejoicing when I am down, He is faithful to lift me up when I open up and rejoice in praise.

Jesus told us to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy IN THE HOLY SPIRIT (Romans 14:17). If we keep walking in the Spirit with our old man crucified in Christ we can maintain a spirit of thanksgiving, praise and worship and rejoicing in the Lord all the time. This also means that we live out the new creation life in Christ Jesus all the time (2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 2:20).

I have a hard time rejoicing always. But most of the time, once I catch myself feeling sorry for myself, or being angry about something, I can start rejoicing.
I have had a few times in my life, however, that I was pretty low for some time. Eventually, as friends prayed for me, I came out of the situation.
Reading the book of Job as well as the Psalms (and the biographical info on David from kings, etc. in parallel), it seems like these two men spent a lot of time rejoicing during hard times.

That is my goal. When you can give thanks to God for whatever it is then you are winning a spiritual battle. When you can mount up with wings as eagles above and beyond earthly circumstances then you know the Lord is molding you and shaping you into his image.
Real joy is a fruit of the spirit (Gal 5:22), and has to be developed just like faith. And when your heart is changed and that joy is you in by the spirit of God, then nothing can take that away.
Think of the old hymn "It is well with my soul" and learn what inspired the composer to write that song.

I think that it is always possible to be with the Lord and rejoice with Him. But I do think that God understands that we are just human, and that we are not perfect. Even if you get lost from God, as long as you find your way back, you will find rejoice in the Lord.

I can because I know that God will help me through any situation-- I can't just love and praise him when things are wonderful in life- it's all the time.

have fun? no, no longer for me, have faith, specific i'm able to assert I even have reached a element the place i'm able to have faith. I actually are starting to be previous the element the place i presumed, 'properly i do unlike what he's doing' with hind sight in lots of cases thank goodness he did no longer pay attention to my prayers. i'm hoping to be effectual in the 'have fun' point in some unspecified time sooner or later in my existence.

Of course, because He is our hope! We can rejoice that He loves us and will always take care of us.
