People do that every day. The bible says that one must be baptized in order to be saved, but how many so called Christians say that? Most people that claim to be Christian will say that baptism is not essential and is some you do after you are saved which is calling the bible a lie.
I am not being mean but in my experience most (not all)Christians do not follow the bible but man.

My Lord and Savior has told me to do several things, some I did not want to do, some I was afraid to do. Three years ago, my wife came to me and said "i think God wants us to adopt a little girl for China" I thought she was nuts, we have three boys, but I said, I'll pray about it. I told God i would do what ever he wanted but he had to show me clearly how to pay for this, the cost would be around 21,000 and we only make about 45,000 a year. With in 48 hours he showed me exactly how he would pay for it. This past Monday, the 12th, we got our Match from China. She is Five, and beautiful. We hope to be bringing her home at the first of the year. She was left at the orphanage when she was 2 days old. Her name is Lin Tao, God is truly God. Is there anything i wouldn't do? There a lot I would not want to do, so I hope I am never forced to make that choice.

Depends on the god.
There's no reason to think that any gods exist. There is much evidence that they are all made up superstitions.
So, if it turned out that a god did exist, whether I follow it or not depends on the kind of god it is. Throughout history, gods that people believe in range from benign entities that don't really deal much with humans to spoiled brats with bad tempers.
Since you captalized "God", I'll assume you mean the Judeo-Christian god. Even that god has different personalities, depending on which part of the Bible you're looking at. Mostly, though, I would categorize him closer to the spoiled brat turned tyrant type.

Anyone who starts to hear messages from god needs to seek help immediately. So, no matter what the message, If I "heard" god speak to me, I would find a clinical psychologist and probably some medication too.
What wouldn't I do? ...basically all the things that the commandments tell us not to do: No cheating, lying, stealing, killing... you know, all the stuff that religious lunatics are so good at. Practice makes perfect! ;-)

I would go to a psychiatrist and tell them that I've started hearing voices and that its probably for the best that I get committed sooner rather than later before I go out and start influencing easily lead peoples opinions. Especially because if I thought that it was 'god' communicating with me I know for a fact that I would be going mad.

I would not kill for god, something I would greatly expect him to ask of people.
Don't you remember the Tenth Plague? Believers or not, you don't just go around killing CHILDREN. God is an evil dickweed.
That's how God's orders could be bad.
Why don't you find a religion that is less evil?

You have to be willing to give your life as Jesus did for us. Whatever it is that God wants you to do or give up, it is because he has something much better in store. And when all is said and done, a crown of eternal life which cannot be taken away. Then he shall say "welcome good and faithful servant enter into the joy of the Lord"
Lu 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
Lu 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Once you are God possessed he is in control.... and there is nothing that you can do except to call a good exorcist !
Ezekiel 14:9 (KJV) And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

God wouldn't tell me to do anything stupid or evil because He is not stupid, or evil. And He wouldn't tell me to do anything that He knows I would never do anyway, because He is not force full and knows us more than we know ourselves.
