I'm Catholic & hav been all my life, but we have never followed that tradition/sacrifice. Is this because of Good Friday? I do understand the concept if that is the case. Anyway, there is nothing wrong with it if you choose to eliminate meat on Fridays, I might start doing it myself :)

I am Catholic too but I only don't eat meat on Fridays during lent. I did know some families that didn't eat meat on Fridays all year long, but our Church always said Fridays during lent. When I was growing up my friends didn't understand it either.

Lots of people, Catholic or otherwise dont eat meat on Fridays. Many Indians dont - not because they are catholic but because they worship a particular deity on Fridays.
Dont let your friends attitudes bother you. Your belief's are your business.

with the aid of the time Friday comes you would be positive, what a rubbish docs it is! decide the timing of it, food poisoning happens interior of 6-8 hours of having eaten, undercooked or chilly potatoe won't provide you food poisoning, you will possibly have realised if there exchange into some thing off related to the tuna I assure you! the only way of telling for specific in case you have food poisoning could be to get a existence-style pattern out of your vomit, which you haven't any longer have been given, so i might say its probable no longer food poisoning, yet you definately have some form of tummy trojan horse, only attempt and stay hydrated, get some relax, and if the concern nonetheless persists the following day see in case you will get an before appointment at your docs, only so which you would be able to discern it out, theres no reason for alarm nevertheless!

It's just you. I recommend eating meat at every meal on Fridays. Especially BEEF.
Now, if you want to drive your Jewish and Muslim friends crazy, eat pork!
Honestly, I think the idea of Catholics refraining from meet on Fridays was born out of necessity to conserve on available food resources going back to the Roman era and has since become a tradition.

I thought the prohibition on eating meat on friday was lifted years ago..I remember when I was young all my friends that had catecism classes and werent allowed to eat meat on fridays, but then I thought there was a papal edict allowing it, I was raised protestant (pagan now) so it didnt effect me one way or the other.

They don't have to get it.
That's their problem and it's your life.
I'm Hindu and I don't think we're allowed to eat meat on...Mondays, I think.
Not very sure.
My grandma doesn't live with us anymore and always tells us if it's a special religious day and we can't eat "this or that".
Usually, if she says "You can't eat meat today...it's a religious day", I have already broken that rule, haha!
Oh well.
Yeh, my friends never used to get why I had to do my yearly fast in June and just used to think I was trying to diet.
They were so dense!
Just leave your friends to think what they like.

As long as you are doing it for a reason and not just to please some person or people. I can't see anywhere in the Bible where you mustn't eat meat at any time - especially not since Jesus' first coming.
I wonder if Elliot J has beef for breakfast as well? Good for the Beef Industry anyway :)
