I took a week vacation off work and was looking forward to getting some much needed work done around my house! (Like painting and getting ready to put in hardwood floors, etc) Wellll - my husband decided to take the time off too and he is just going to be in the way! He thinks I should entertain him all the time and doesn't want to "waste" vacation time. How do I get him to either go back to work or leave me to my household chores without making him angry?

just tell him that you don't think this is the vacation he is looking for. you are taking this time to do work on the house and that's what you are going to do. he can take the time off, too, if he is happy enough to work on the house, too; and, you understand if he not happy do this, but this is what you will be doing. so, if he's not happy with this idea, then, maybe he should continue working and take a vacation together at a later date. this is something that's important for you to accomplish and you hope he understands.

Wel, what I would suggest is that you sit your man down, talk to him and tell him that life is not all about pleasure but life is also about planning. Your motive for the leave was to finish with the household chores not pleasure. If you talked to him nicely and if he is an understanding male, he will definitely help you out with your chores and not alwas think about pleasure.

Hi,
Tell him what you had in mind when you took off and how much work you need to complete. Involve him also in the work and make it enjoyable by having some funtime in between. You both will be happy you did the work together. I am sure you can handle it.
All the best..

He is your husband. You should be able to speak with him honestly about it. You could suggest that he only take one day off so that you can be together that day.

oh, you are so lucky, that you have this as a problem!
Lighten up, relax, and have a little fun with your husband, and also do some work together.
That is why you are called Family!

He is your husband so he probably wouldn't mind helping you if you gave him attention in return.
