Then does this mean some of you pro-open door lobbyists truly beleive that **all** British people are highly skilled and earning big fat paypackets?

Or on the dole?

Because if you beleive this you need to stop taking the drugs.

keypointist - your attitude surprises me in a way. I presume you don't have to worry about money and your career so you can see people who wait on tables as another breed. But as the grandson of a Welsh miner's son who suffered malnutrition when his father was unemployed surely you can see the reasons behind the "look after your own" approach and the allure of Socialism. After all it was"glorious" capitalism and "every man for himself" which nearly killed your grandfather! I know a lot about poverty n Wales in the 1930s, my family lived and died in it and yes surprise surprise I'm a Welsh Socialist. Always have been. Probably always will be. I beleive in look after your own and let the rest of the world look after theirs. Proud to be so.

kenyguir - I live in an ex mining village too sweetheart and theres no £30,000 pa salaries round here. Most of us work for minimum wage, not through choice but through lack of choice. So I resent being told we don't exist.

If British people are "unwilling" to do "low skilled work"?
======================

In the United States, when the employers say that, the reason is that they want to pay less than full wages.. or less than the wages that would attract an employee that is a citizen. And they wind up with illegal aliens who will and do take those jobs.

In the United States when an 'immigrants rights groups' says that, it specifically means they are justifying the input of illegal aliens into our society.
----------------------------------------

Both groups, if they don't get their way, tell us we are racists and more. But if the employers have their way, it is no longer a nation of the people. If the 'immigrants rights groups' have their way, you see your Representatives working for foreign nationals and interest groups. Either way.. it is a sign of the times that the people have better get their hands on the reigns of the government or they will lose that government. And if they do lose control of their government, they will also lose their democracy.

i`m not being funny towards you but i wouldn`t wish most of the jobs where you find large numbers of Eastern Europeans working ,on no one .I'm from an ex mining village and people here used to go and do the pack house work that they do now
because there was nothing else and i know from myself those place treat their workers hardly better than a slave ,This time of year they` re building up for Christmas the van would come to get you at like 4 or 4.30 am to get you where ever ,for 7am and if you got back home for 9 or 10 pm it was a good day because more often you would still be stood at some freezing cold line picking bad sprouts of it or chopping broccoli up or pealing onions for 7 hours before you were allowed a 15 minute break . some times if the next shifts van had broke down they kept you there all night and then expected you to carry on for your own shift as well any one refusing got sacked and left to make their own way home but even those places were luxury compared to the poor buggers who had to go chicken and Turkey catching
no one in their right mind would choose to work in any of those places

"Illegals can take over jobs that the British do not want to do."

I live in the U.S. and thats the same load of bs that is said over here over and over. Economically, the pay of everyone that legally works decreases because illegals work for vastly cheaper. As a result, the minimum wage never increases when its suppose to, which it then becomes worthless to the point that it doesn't serve its original purpose. It is a bull crap strategy to destroy the middle class. All that happens is that it makes the rich even richer and the poor even poorer.

Try and use common sense! This is a generalization. But it's a fact that many British people would rather be on benefits than clean toilets for instance. Surely you can see that?

But it's not entirely their fault. Britain is a rich country, and it's difficult to do jobs like that while your mates are earning 10x as much as you in an office job.

And learn to spell! It's not 'beleive', it's 'believe' (i before e except after c).

"British people" are doing low skilled jobs and low paid jobs. I wish they would stop with this stupid nonsense.
A lot of "British people" have to do 3 sometimes 4 jobs a day to pay the rent, electric, gas, food bills. And they get NO help, unlike the immigrants.

People who think otherwise, should take a reality check and join the real world.

The fact is that there are British people on the dole who are refusing to do minimum wage jobs. The work needs to be done by somebody so here come the workers from accross the sea.
Socialists think that all British people should stick together. I don't give a damn whether the bloke who makes my ready meal is British or Polish as long as it tastes alright. Nobody owes anyone a living. We're all competing in this world. If we don't all pull our socks up the Chinese will dominate us economically and we'll be the ones working for peanuts for them!

The British don't apply for these low skilled positions because they are better off on the dole. Why clean bogs when you can sit on you **** all morning before going to the pub for the rest of the day.
We tax payers better hope that all the immigrants don't catch on to the benefit system else we will be truly stuffed.

It is certainly not the case that all Britons are either unemployed or skilled high-earners.

However, this does not detract from the fact that most Britons would prefer not to do menial work (or at most, regard menial work as a last-resort)

What is true is that we Britons enjoy our lifestyle, and are happy to have 'someone else' do the shitwork.
