No! That's rubbish! If you've ever been to WeightWatchers you'd know that a whole pizza (even a small one) is about 12 points and a glass of wine about 2, so that gives you some sort of indication!!

I've always been told 'vodka and tonic' as well, although I stuck to diet soda when i was dieting, as most alcoholic drinks are pretty fattening and when you get drunk you're more prone to eat bad stuff...like pizza!!

This site has some good info about calories in alcohol: http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/calories/calorie_counter/alcohol.htm

Wine is about 90 calories or 2 ww points. Red wine is good for your heart. Pizza is filled with fat and thousands of calories. Do not believe everything you hear. I think vodka and tonic tastes bad, there are so many different types of wine there must be one you enjoy. The calorie difference wont be enough to sacrifice drinking vodka.

so completely not true. a 5 ounce glass of wine (which is considered the serving size) is approximately 100 calories and has zero nurtitional value. i.e. no carbs, no fat, nothing. one slice of pizza isn't even 100 calories.

wine is actually your best bet if you are trying to lose weight. tonic has sugar in it and you need to stay away from anything that involves juice of any kind or surgary mixers like sweet and sourt, grenadine, margaritas, daiquiris, etc.

Someone was just f'ing with you.
A glass of wine has about 100 calories in it. You burn more calories than that in about 30 minutes of walking.
One slice of plain cheese pizza has more than 100 calories, and a whole pizza easily has more than a thousand.
Here are links for you on calories in wine, calories burned in different exercises, and calories in pizza:
