1. In both of my marathons I did an easy 3 mile run the day before.

2. There are/should be plenty of stations for you to rehydrate at on the course. I like to slow down power walk for a few seconds to chug the drink and then I take off. If you hang out for too long without running the lactic acid buildup in your muscles will make it painful for you to get going again.

3. Whatever hours you normally sleep should be fine, don't deviate from your routine.

4. If the race started at 8:15, I'd be up early because I'd be excited and ready to go. Goodluck!!!

1. I generally do some strides (10-12x20m) and 1-2 miles
2. Always take fluids - it seems that this is your first marathon, walk and take 6oz of fluid each water stop.
3. Sleep is strange - I ran my best race on 2 hours of sleep, and when I felt like I had a great nights sleep - well let's say I ran crap.
4. It takes about 24-36 hours for food to be ready for running so the most important food is Friday night/Saturday morning - eat what you normally eat - do do anything different from your normal long runs. You should as part of your training know what works by now.

2.they will have water stations, and if you are not racing stop, walk so as to drink the water.
3.sleep normal do not try to sleep extra it will make you tired.
4.what and when you eat depends on your stomach as to what you can eat and how food sits on your stomach. Do not eat dairy or meat products, maybe some oatmeal at least 2 hours before the race.

DRINK WATER!! There will probably be 10-20 water stations in every marathon. Make sure that you are using them. A marathon is not an easy task and your body will need to be hydrated. If you are not properly hydrated, your body will not perform at its best and you are even at risk of making yourself ill. I also recommend switching between water and Gatorade. You will know why at mile 22.
